As a Porter at our Leeds Hospital, you’ll need to be a good communicator, as this role involves helping our patients to feel relaxed and reassured, before and after surgery. It’s also essential that you’re happy to undergo our Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, as part of your application.Â
As a Hospital Porter, you will:Â

- Be part of a close-knit professional team Â
- Collect and return patients to their individual rooms, before and after surgeryÂ
- Work with your colleagues to ensure that the theatre environment and its equipment are fully functioningÂ
- Help with the cleaning of the theatre environment and equipment Â
- Work in a fast-moving clinical environmentÂ
- Maintain constant and effective interaction with our theatre teamÂ

Our successful, purpose-built hospital deals with complex surgery and a vast range of specialities involving some 300 consultants. There are 80 bedrooms, an 8 bed Level 3 critical care unit and 6 theatres (2 Stryker laparoscopic and 2 laminar flow). We are close to the city centre and central railway station."
