Software Developer

We are looking for aSoftware Developerwith strong expertise inJava backend development and Artificial Intelligence engineering to join our Issuance, Custody & Data domain in Porto.

The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of mission-critical systems supporting post-trade processes, while actively driving the adoption ofAI-driven solutions to improve efficiency, automation, and data insights.

This role requires a balance betweenrobust engineering practices andinnovation, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and high-quality software delivery in a regulated financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performanceJava-based backend applications
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions
• Ensure code quality through best practices (testing, code reviews, CI/CD)
• Support modernization and transformation of legacy systems

AI & Data Engineering

• Design and implementAI/ML solutions (e.g., predictive models, NLP, automation use cases)
• Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise systems and data pipelines
• Work with structured and unstructured datasets to extract business value
• Collaborate with data engineers and AI champions to define and deliver use cases

System Integration & Domain Contribution

• Develop APIs and integrate services across platforms
• Contribute todata platforms and data-driven architectures
• Support convergence initiatives across multiple markets and systems

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Architects, UX/UI, Data teams)
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement
• Promote engineering excellence and knowledge sharing within the team

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• Strong experience inJava backend development (Spring / Spring Boot preferred)
• Solid understanding ofmicroservices architecture and API design
• Experience withAI/ML frameworks (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar)
• Knowledge ofdata processing and pipelines (SQL, NoSQL, streaming technologies)
• Familiarity withcloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices

Additional Valuable Skills

• Experience withGenerative AI / LLM integration
• Knowledge of financial services or post-trade systems (nice to have)
• Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
