Ā Purpose of the RoleĀ 
Ā 
The Product Manager – Integrated Products drives the development and performance of hardware plus embeddedĀ software solutions for the LowĀ Voltage (LV)Ā distribution space, working closely with Distribution Network OperatorsĀ (DNOs). An interest in LV networks and the challenges faced by DNOs is highly desirable.Ā 

The role focuses on understanding customer needs, analysing product performance, and collaborating with engineering, operations, and commercial teams to deliverĀ NPI:sĀ andĀ meaningful product improvements. The Product Manager provides input to product direction and contributes to the broader product strategy, working within a strategic framework defined at portfolio andĀ senior PMĀ level.Ā 

You will be joining a newly centralised Product Management organisation atĀ CamlinĀ .Ā This is not a greenfield environment, but it doesĀ representĀ a refreshed phase for how we manage products across the portfolio. There is meaningful scope to influence emerging processes, shape ways of working, and grow your responsibilities as the function evolves.Ā The position will report to the Senior Product Manager as currently structured, with the reporting line reviewed periodically to ensure the best fit for the team and our prioritiesĀ

Key ResponsibilitiesĀ

Customer Insight & Market UnderstandingĀ 
• Develop strong understanding of customer needs, use cases, and operating environments through research and feedback.Ā 
• MonitorĀ market trends, competitor products, and relevant technology developments.Ā 
• Analyse field performance, reliability, and environmental constraints toĀ identifyĀ improvement opportunities.Ā 
Ā 
Product Planning & RoadmapĀ 
• MaintainĀ the short- to medium-term roadmap for assigned products.Ā 
• Define clear problem statements and business cases for new initiatives.Ā 
• Recommend priorities based on customer value, feasibility, and business impact.Ā 
• Consider lifecycle factors such as component availability, supply constraints, and manufacturing readiness.Ā

Financial & Commercial AwarenessĀ 
• Understand product performance including revenue, adoption, margin, and cost drivers.Ā 
• Analyse BOM structure, unit cost, and supply impacts on product margin.Ā 
• IdentifyĀ financial risks and opportunities affecting the product.Ā 
Ā 
Product Development & DeliveryĀ 
• Translate customer problems into requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.Ā 
• Work closely with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain to deliver improvements.Ā 
• Support planning, release readiness, validation, certification, and field trials.Ā 
Ā 
Risk & CollaborationĀ 
• IdentifyĀ risks, dependencies, and constraints early and manage them appropriately.Ā 
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, support, and operations to support launches and customer engagement.Ā 
• Communicate product updates and insights clearly to internal stakeholders.Ā 
Ā 
Skills & ExperienceĀ 
• At leastĀ 3 years’ experience in product management or systems engineering involving hardware and embedded software.Ā 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ā 
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and supply chain.Ā 
• Strong communicationĀ and stakeholder management skills.Ā 
• Desirable:Ā Exposure to/interest in power engineering is a strong plus, as would be relevant experience in the fields of system monitoring, cable diagnostics or test and measurement.Ā

Travel Requirements

Frequent travel is expected during the first six months in role to build relationships, gain exposure to customer environments and develop a deep understanding of Camlin's product portfolio.

Travel of approximately2-4 trips per month should be expected during this period.

Following the initial onboarding period, regular travel of approximatelyone trip per month is expected.

Travel will primarily be within the UK and Europe but may extend to any country where Camlin has active customer installations, including customer sites, Camlin offices, workshops, training events, conferences and other business locations as required.
