Title: Membership Coordinator / Youth Development Professional
Reports to: Club Director
Salary Range: $15-$17 DOE
Hours: 25 hours/week; Mon, Tues, Thurs 2:00-6:30pm, Wed 12:00-6:30pm, Fri 1:00-6:30pm
JOB SUMMARY:
This is not your typical office job! The Boys & Girls Club is looking for a dedicated, professional, and organized individual to keep things running smoothly in a combined role of Membership Coordinator and Youth Development Professional. This position will split time betweenfront desk responsibilities and active group management with teens ages 13-18.
In time spent as Membership Coordinator, this position will assist with entering membership and activity information into a database, answering phones, communicating with parents and youth, taking payments, and monitoring the main entrance into the facility.
In time spent as Youth Development Professional, this position will facilitate fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities for teens from diverse backgrounds. Using our three priority outcomes—academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles—as a guide, Youth Development Professionals run programs, offer support, and ensure that every Club Member has an Optimal Club Experience that sets them up for lifelong success.

Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):
- Help maintain accurate membership records and database entries, process applications and renewals
- Field inquiries from families and provide exceptional customer service
- Assist with financial tasks such as invoicing and payment processing
- Perform general clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and data entry
- Plan and implement daily group activities with youth ages 13-18 (occasionally with youth ages 5-12)
- Establish rapport with youth and provide mentoring, guidance, and role modeling
- Provide active supervision, continually interacting with all members
- Submit regular lesson plans, attendance sheets, and other paperwork responsibilities
- Abide by and carry out safety policies and procedures
- Attend local trainings
Needed Knowledge:
- Some front desk, office, or customer service experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs, with the ability to learn new software tools as needed
- Excellent organizational skills, with both electronic data and physical files
- Ability to handle personal information with sensitivity and confidentiality
- Ability to communicate effectively over the phone, in person, and over email
- Willingness to learn and implement Trauma-Informed Practices to create an environment of safety, awareness, trust, and empathy with youth and fellow staff members
- Willingness to learn and teach social-emotional competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making
- Ability to work in high-energy, loud, and active settings with large groups of youth and teens
- Ability to prioritize tasks and accomplish them in a detailed, timely manner
- Self-motivated, and comfortable with both independent and collaborative processes
- Strong group management skills
Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, MVR check, and drug screening
- 21 years and over
- Willing and able to drive 15 passenger vans
