Key ResponsibilitiesĀ 

1. External Research & Source IdentificationĀ 

  • IdentifyĀ and evaluate the most reliable and comprehensive sources ofĀ outlet, airport, and airline data beyond official websitesĀ assessing coverage gaps vs direct scrapingĀ 

  • Maintain a catalogue of trusted sources to feedĀ data‑scrapingĀ and ingestion processes (e.g.Ā outletĀ review platforms, aviation publications, airport authorities)Ā 

  • Monitor industry news and announcements related toĀ outlets, airports, terminals, and airline operationsĀ 

2. Data Validation & DisambiguationĀ 

  • Review andĀ validateĀ scraped orĀ third‑partyĀ data to ensure accuracy and relevanceĀ 

  • Disambiguate conflicting or duplicated data points and select the most meaningful valuesĀ 

  • Support entity resolution, reconcilingĀ third‑partyĀ outletĀ and airport data with Collinson’s internal inventoryĀ 

  • Act as aĀ subject‑matterĀ reviewer to improveĀ LLM‑drivenĀ enrichment processesĀ 

3. Master LocationĀ MaintenanceĀ 

  • OwnĀ the maintenanceĀ the Master Location database, covering airports, terminals, concourses, andĀ sub‑locationsĀ 

  • Track and update changes such as terminal renumbering, new builds, closures, or connectivity changesĀ 

  • Ensure location hierarchies accurately reflect passenger reality (e.g. terminal accessibility, airside/landside constraints)Ā 

4. Terminal Connectivity & Passenger MappingĀ 

  • Document terminal connectivity and passenger flows (e.g. which terminals are connected airside)Ā 

  • Map passenger types (domestic, international, Schengen,Ā non‑Schengen, etc.) to terminals and locationsĀ 

  • Enable moreĀ accurateĀ understanding of which outlets members can realistically access, supporting traffic allocation and reportingĀ 

5. Airline & Network IntelligenceĀ 

  • Maintain and enrich airline datasets, including:Ā 

  • Terminal operations by airportĀ 

  • Airline categorisation (e.g.Ā low‑costĀ carrier vsĀ full‑service)Ā 

  • Track airline moves between terminals and network changesĀ 

  • Anticipate competitiveĀ outletĀ network changes by monitoring announcements before they appear in official networksĀ 

6. Crowdsourcing & Internal Community EngagementĀ 

  • Coordinate internal crowdsourcing initiatives to gather insights from frequent travellers and knowledgeable staffĀ 

  • Build and nurture an internal community contributingĀ real‑worldĀ observations and updatesĀ 

  • Validate and incorporate crowdsourced data into master datasetsĀ 

7. Communication & Business UpdatesĀ 

  • Produce regular business updates highlighting:Ā 

  • Recent changes to airports,Ā outlets, and terminalsĀ 

  • Network expansions or closuresĀ 

  • Key insights and ā€œgood to knowā€ information from core datasetsĀ 

  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders across Product, Commercial, Data, and OperationsĀ

Required Skills & ExperienceĀ 

Technical & Analytical SkillsĀ 

  • Comfortable working with structured data in Excel or similar toolsĀ 

  • Ability to run preset queries or extract data from source systems (no advanced codingĀ required)Ā 

  • Strong attention to detail and data qualityĀ 

Industry & Domain SkillsĀ 

  • Strong interest or passion for the aviation and travel industryĀ 

  • Curiosity to stay up to date with industry news, airport developments, and market trendsĀ 

  • PreviousĀ experience in travel, aviation, or tourism (e.g. travel agency, airline, airport, or hospitality) isĀ advantageousĀ but not mandatoryĀ

  • Clear written and verbal communication skillsĀ 

  • Confidence engaging with a broad internal audienceĀ 

  • Ability to synthesise complex information into clear, actionable updatesĀ
