Pay Rate: $24.86/hour while working 3rd shift
Base Pay: $22.00/hour + 13% 3rd Shift Differential
Shift: 3rd Shift β 11:30 PMβ8:00 AM
Hours: 40 hours per week

Position Overview
We are seeking a Coating Machine Operator for a manufacturing facility in Worcester, MA.
The Coating Operator is responsible for operating production machinery used to coat or laminate film before additional converting operations or shipment to customers.
This is a hands-on manufacturing position involving machine operation, raw-material loading, equipment adjustments, production monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and quality inspection.
Previous coating experience is not required for consideration. Candidates with manufacturing experience who have worked with heavy or industrial machinery are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor coating and laminating machinery.
- Review work orders, process folders, and job specifications at the beginning of each assignment.
- Ensure machines are properly cleaned and prepared before starting a new production order.
- Set and monitor machine parameters including temperature, airflow, speed, threading, and tension.
- Adjust machine speed and tension using hand controls or touchscreen controls.
- Load raw materials onto equipment using a hand crank or hydraulic lift.
- Add silicone, non-silicone, adhesive, and other production mixes according to work-order specifications.
- Pump mixes from drums or manually add materials as required.
- Monitor the coating process and make machine adjustments to maintain proper product quality.
- Perform routine quality checks and visually inspect finished material for defects and scratches.
- Verify mixes, raw materials, and supplies against work orders and process documentation.
- Enter material information into the QAD inventory system.
- Use basic hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and socket sets to assemble or break down machinery components.
- Perform basic equipment troubleshooting.
- Follow established machine operating and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Previous manufacturing, production, machine operating, or industrial experience.
- Experience working with heavy or industrial machinery strongly preferred.
- Prior coating or laminating experience is helpful but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new production machinery.
- Ability to make basic machine adjustments and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, instructions, job folders, and production specifications.
- Basic math skills, including conversions and calculations involving weight, volume, measurements, and distance.
- Strong attention to detail and product quality.
- Ability to work independently after training.
- Dependable attendance and ability to consistently work the 11:30 PMβ8:00 AM overnight shift.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to assist with moving plastic film rolls weighing up to 200 pounds.
- Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, reach, handle materials, and operate equipment.
- Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to safely work around moving mechanical equipment.
Work Environment
This position operates in an industrial manufacturing environment and involves working around moving machinery.
Employees may occasionally be exposed to heat, fumes, airborne dust, and moderate-to-loud noise.
