The Senior DevSecOps Engineer combines deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, DevOps and security engineering. The role is responsible for embedding security into platform engineering, CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments and operational processes while contributing to broader DevOps initiatives/Application across the organisation. The role partners closely with Engineering, Architecture, Security and Apllication teams to improve the security, reliability and operational maturity of Coates' platforms.

Key responsibilities for the role

  • Contribute to a strong DevOps and DevSecOps culture across engineering teams.
  • Design, build and maintain secure, scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD platforms.
  • Manage and support AWS environments, Linux-based systems and global device platforms.
  • Embed security controls, automation and compliance practices into engineering workflows.
  •  Lead vulnerability management, security remediation and cloud security improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor platform health, performance and security, responding to incidents and operational events.
  • Research, recommend and implement platform, security and operational improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineers and development teams.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Architecture and Application teams to deliver business outcomes.

Qualifications and experience

  • Strong experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or DevSecOps roles.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS, Linux administration and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code and automation tooling.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, vulnerability management and security best practices.
  • Experience with containerisation technologies and distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash and Python.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability and incident management practices.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.
