### **Role Overview**

We are looking for a Backend Engineer who is passionate about building scalable systems and designing efficient APIs for a high-traffic marketplace. ### **What You Will Do**

* **Scalable Service Design:** Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices that power our eCommerce operations.
* **API Optimization:** Build and optimize RESTful APIs for high-performance applications, ensuring smooth browsing for users looking for our products like [**pH balancing cleanser**](https://www.clinikally.com/products/clinikally-hydrasoft-gentle-skin-cleanser).
* **System Integration:** Work on systems powering teleconsultations, logistics workflows, and integration with databases, caching systems, and third-party APIs.
* **Core Product Logic:** Write clean, modular, and maintainable code using modern backend technologies to support our catalog of [**Hair Growth Serum**](https://www.clinikally.com/products/clinikally-hair-regrow-serum).
* **High Performance Engineering:** Ensure performance, scalability, and security across backend systems to support a high-scale Telehealth and Rx-grade marketplace.
* **Collaborative Development:** Partner with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to ship reliable features and maintain our API-first architecture.
* **System Reliability:** Debug production issues and continuously improve system reliability through logs, APM, and metrics.

### **What We Are Looking For**

* **Experience:** 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience in backend development within a fast-paced environment.
* **Technical Depth:** Strong understanding of REST APIs, databases, caching, and asynchronous processing.
* **Architecture:** Experience building scalable backend services, distributed systems, and a solid grasp of microservices.
* **Ownership:** Ability to take end-to-end ownership of backend features from design to deployment.
* **Problem Solving:** Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a hawk-eye for detail.
* **Mindset:** Comfortable working in a high-growth startup environment where speed and quality are prioritized.

* **Languages:** TypeScript, Python
* **Frameworks:** FastAPI (primary), NestJS (selective)
* **Architecture:** Microservices, API-first design
* **Databases:** PostgreSQL, Redis
* **Async and Queues:** RabbitMQ, SQS
* **Infrastructure:** Docker, AWS (ECS/EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, S3)
* **Auth and Security:** JWT, RBAC, HMAC webhooks
* **Observability:** Logs, APM, metrics
