The Cardiac Sonographer will perform echocardiogram tests to obtain important data about patients. Examine blood flow, valvefunction and chamber size todetermine the overall condition of the heart.Assist physicians in the Cath lab and operating room. Ensure the delivery of world-class patient care by placing a strong emphasis on quality and education.Â
A caregiver in this positionworksM-F, 7:00am—3:30pm. On-call requirements (M-F: 3:30pm—11:00pm). Sat, Sun, andholidays: 7:00am—11:00pm.Â

A caregiver who excels in this role will:Â Â
Set up andadjust all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.Â
Implement safety standards and performappropriate quality control procedures.Â
Perform routine and complex studies andassistphysicians in a variety of imaging procedures.Â
Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.Â
Â
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â
Bachelor'sdegree insonography orvasculartechnology Â
OR graduate of a cardiac ultrasound program (18-month program) OR two years of full-time echo experience. Â
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red CrossÂ
New hires must obtain the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Â
OR the Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential from Cardiac Credentialing International within one year of hire dateÂ
Demonstrated knowledge of m-mode, 2D anddoppler calculations and cardiac hemodynamicsÂ
Familiar with computers andcan learn related programsÂ
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to assist with transport of patients, i.e., pushing beds, stretchers and wheelchairs.
Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
