Job Purpose:
The employee in this position has a wide range of responsibilities and duties to ensure the building’s cleanliness and sanitization of the CLFN band buildings appointed. The fundamental reason for this position is to maintain a clean and healthy environment for all employees, staff, and community members that enter our band buildings. The person hired for this position will report to the Band Building Coordinator directly.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain the entrances and always keep waiting areas in an orderly and straightened manner.
- Disinfect touchpoints in all public areas daily.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces throughout building daily i.e., tabletops, countertops, side tables, sinks, etc.
- Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures daily.
- Sanitize bathrooms weekly. Wipe down walls, stalls, etc.
- Sweep, and mop floors, vacuum rugs, and stairs (if applicable)
- Refilling paper towel and napkin dispensers as needed.
- Remove all scraps, heavy debris, and other refuse.
- Empty trash cans, recycle containers and dispose of garbage in proper bins at the end of each day.
- Keep an inventory of cleaning supplies in janitor closets and place orders on Mondays with immediate supervisor.
- Keep janitor closets in an orderly manner. Bottles labeled for safety precautions.
- All office areas, general areas and storage areas are to be dusted regularly/weekly.
- Office spaces cleaned regularly/weekly, as needed, and/or when asked.
- Wash interior of building seasonally i.e., walls, windows, move furniture, equipment and supplies for cleaning purposes.
- Report adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems to immediate supervisor in form of maintenance request.
- Any other duties, specified training as required/requested by immediate supervisor. i.e. covering for coworker when sick.
- Follow the checklists, direction, and guidance of immediate supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cleaning methods and products.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHIMIS, MSDS, PPE, Etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills including communication, time management, multi-tasking, etc.
- Demonstrated confidentiality attributes.
- Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment. As well as keeping busy in the downtime.
- Self-motivated work with little or no supervision.
- Knowledge of First Nations culture, government, languages, and community dynamics is considered an asset.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
- Physical agility and ability to complete duties that require physical effort.
- Monday – Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week.
- Flexible hours of work, discuss with immediate supervisor.
- Doing repetitive tasks i.e., bending, stretching, reaching, daily checklist tasks, etc.
