Weāre looking for an experiencedIT Systems Engineerto provide handsāon support across our business while contributing to continuous improvement, automation and wider IT initiatives.
Principal ResponsibilitiesĀ
This is a role for the technically curious - someone with an appetite to learn, grow and apply new skills. You will be exposed to a broad and evolving technology stack,Ā with the expectation that you develop your skills and apply them back into the role.Ā
Support & AdministrationĀ
- Responsible for providing IT support across the business, acting as the first point of contact for all IT queries,Ā issuesĀ and requestsĀ
- Administer andĀ maintainĀ Microsoft 365, Entra and Intune across a fully remote team, covering identity, access, deviceĀ managementĀ and complianceĀ
- Administer our SaaS application estate including user management,Ā licensingĀ and securityĀ
- ExecuteĀ user lifecycle processes including onboarding and offboardingĀ
Embrace Artificial IntelligenceĀ
- EmbraceĀ responsible AI as a core part of how you work - utilisingĀ AIĀ to enhance your own workflows, reduce toil and deliver more effectivelyĀ
- Consider and contribute ideas on how AI could be applied across the team and wider organisation when solving problemsĀ
- Stay on top of emerging developments and tooling, bringing relevant insights and recommendations to the teamĀ

Security & ComplianceĀ
- Support the implementation and delivery of IT security controls,Ā policiesĀ and compliance activitiesĀ
- MaintainĀ accurateĀ records of devices, softwareĀ licensesĀ and compliance activities.Ā
Automation & ImprovementĀ
- Contribute to the development of scripts,Ā automationsĀ and integrations to reduce manual effort and improve efficiencyĀ
- ProactivelyĀ identifyĀ issues,Ā risksĀ and improvement opportunities - raising them with theĀ teamĀ and, whereĀ required, leading the resolutionĀ
- MaintainĀ accurateĀ documentation across systems,Ā processesĀ and configurations soĀ thatĀ knowledgeĀ is shared.Ā
GeneralĀ
- Work with third-party vendors and suppliers to manage relationships, supportĀ escalationsĀ and procurement activityĀ
- ActivelyĀ participateĀ in IT projects and wider initiatives, taking ownership of work and seeing it through to completionĀ
- Represent IT positively across the business, building strong working relationships with colleagues at all levelsĀ

CiviteqĀ runs a fully SaaS-based environmentĀ centeredĀ on Microsoft 365 and a range of best-in-class software platforms. TheĀ organisationĀ supports around 60 fully remote UK-based users, along with a similar number of Windows endpoint devices.Ā
Weād be keen to hear from you if you have 3+ years experience in:
Ā
- Administering Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online,Ā TeamsĀ and SharePointĀ
- Experience with Copilot, Microsoft Defender and Purview preferredĀ
- Administering Entra ID and IntuneĀ
- Configuring,Ā securingĀ and supporting Windows systemsĀ
- Supporting end users at L2+Ā levelĀ across a range of hardware and software issues, and familiarity with service management tools such asĀ Freshservice.Ā
- Supporting a hybrid or fully remote user baseĀ
- Administering and supporting SaaS applications, including access control, configuration,Ā licensingĀ and security.Ā
- A good working understanding of IT security principles and compliance ā a āsecurity firstā mindset and discipline to apply controls consistently.Ā
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload.Ā

DesirableĀ skills include:
- Exposure toĀ scripting in PowerShell and/or PythonĀ ā even foundational experience with an appetite to develop furtherĀ is welcome.Ā
- Experience working withinĀ an IT environment subject to ISO27001 and / or Cyber Essentials PlusĀ requirements.Ā
- Relevant professional and/or technical memberships/certifications or actively working towards them.Ā
- Familiar withĀ AgileĀ ways of working.Ā
- ExperienceĀ working in a professional services / consultancyĀ environmentĀ
