Key Responsibilities:
- Technical ownership of our data platform, including structured and unstructured data repositories, ingestion pipelines and visualisation toolsÂ
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting data across operational and analytical systemsÂ
- Maintain and optimise existing on-premises Microsoft SQL Server environments and associated integrationsÂ
- Support migration initiatives from legacy data warehousing systems into modern analytical platforms including ClickHouseÂ
- Develop data ingestion frameworks capable of handling structured, semi-structured, and streaming data sourcesÂ
- Implement data retention, partitioning, indexing, and optimisation strategies for large datasetsÂ
- Develop data pipelines and feature engineering workflows to support AI and machine learning initiativesÂ
- Optimise SQL queries, indexing strategies, and database performance across multiple environmentsÂ
- Design, develop, and maintain operational dashboards, executive reporting suites, and interactive visualisations for technical and non-technical stakeholders using Microsoft Power BI, Grafana and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)Â
- Ensure a high level of security against unauthorised access to data, data-sources, reports and dashboards, ensuring data is sufficiently partitioned for the relevant users.Â
Requirements:
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server query and procedure development and optimisation, maintaining linked servers and an SQL Server Reporting Services environmentÂ
- Advanced SQL and Python development and troubleshooting skills Â
- Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelinesÂ
- Experience designing and implementing data warehouses and data lake structuresÂ
- Experience with orchestration and automation platforms such as Rundeck and AirbyteÂ
- Experience with data visualisation and dashboarding platforms including Microsoft Power BI and Grafana Â
- Experience with modern analytical databases such as ClickHouse and OpenSearchÂ
- Intermediate Linux and Windows server administration experienceÂ
- Strong attention to detail and operational reliability Â
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independentlyÂ
- Experience supporting MLOps frameworks and AI infrastructure, including vector databases, embeddings, or semantic search systems; is a bonusÂ
