This role operates primarily on a remote working arrangement that could require monthly attendance at one of our UK sties for team meetings. Our remote working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit which could change at any point during your employment, so for this reason an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

About our Department:

The Salesforce Developer sits within our Technology Department that is crucial to making sure our employees and students can work effectively, deliver projects, find the right solutions and ensure we develop the technology that will make the biggest difference.

Our IT team is made up of around 65 employees with a vast range of skills from Software Development to IT Operations and Security.

Our IT Department values employee development and we have lots of great examples of employee progression and promotions within the team.

About the Opportunity:

As an experienced Salesforce Developer within Arden University’s Technology team, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining solutions across our Salesforce platform, helping us deliver technology that creates value for our students, colleagues and wider University.

You’ll work across Salesforce Service Cloud and Sales Cloud, designing and building solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components and declarative automation. You’ll also develop and support integrations, contribute to technical solution design and take ownership of assigned development work, ensuring solutions are delivered to a high standard and in line with agreed development practices.

Alongside development, you’ll contribute to BAU support, technical investigations, releases and continuous improvement, helping to maintain and enhance the Salesforce platform as our needs evolve. You’ll work closely with Functional Consultants, Business Analysts, Administrators and the Lead Salesforce Developer to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.

This is a hands-on development role where you’ll have the opportunity to work independently on complex development tasks, while also sharing your knowledge and supporting the development of less experienced members of the team. It’s an exciting opportunity to make a direct contribution to the continued development of Salesforce at Arden University and the services it provides to our students and colleagues.

Essential requirements:

• Salesforce Platform Developer I and Platform Developer II certifications.

• Salesforce Platform Administrator or Platform App Builder certification.

• 5+ years’ professional experience in Salesforce development, including designing, developing and maintaining Salesforce solutions.

• Strong experience developing withApex, including classes, triggers, asynchronous processing and unit testing.

• Strong experience developingLightning Web Components (LWC).

• Strong knowledge ofSOQL and SOSL, including query optimisation.

• Strong experience withSalesforce Flow and declarative automation, with sound judgement about when to use configuration versus custom code.

• Strong understanding of theSalesforce data model, object relationships, security and sharing model.

• Experience developing and supportingintegrations between Salesforce and third-party systems, including REST/SOAP APIs and common integration patterns.

• Experience usingGit and version control, including branching and pull request workflows, and working withSalesforce DX.

• Experience withCI/CD and Salesforce deployment pipelines, using tools such as Bitbucket, Copado, Gearset or similar.

• Experience managingSalesforce releases and deployments between environments.

• Experience conducting and responding tocode reviews, working to agreed development standards and quality practices.

• Experience working within anAgile delivery environment, including sprint planning, backlog refinement and effort estimation.

• Experience resolvingBAU incidents and complex technical issues, including systematic troubleshooting, debugging and technical investigation.

• Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture acrossdata, security, automation and integration layers, including bulkification, governor limits and common design patterns.

• Understanding ofrelease management, version control and deployment processes.

• Understanding ofdata governance, GDPR and information security best practice.

• Ability to translate business requirements intoscalable technical solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable requirements:

• Experience working within theHigher Education sector.

• Experience working withlarge datasets and data migration.

• Knowledge and practical experience ofJavaScript, HTML and CSS.

• Experience working withmiddleware or third-party integration platforms.

• Experiencementoring, coaching or supporting junior developers.

• Knowledge and experience ofSalesforce Service Cloud and Sales Cloud.

• Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant or Service Cloud Consultant certification.

• Salesforce Agentforce Specialist certification.
