Functional Specialist Auditor

The successful candidates will play a key role within the business by quality checking (auditing) Assessment Reports written by Functional Specialists to the required standards.
Where required, they will also provide appropriate written audit feedback to support the Functional Specialistsâ on-going learning and development. In addition to the quality checking processes, they may also support via telephony, virtual or face-to-face activities completing their own reports each month.

What you'll be doing :
Maintain a comprehensive and topical understanding of the prevailing PIPAG and Clinical Guidance from the Clinical Governance Team, pro-actively seeking clarity if requiredÂ
Quality check a specified volume of reports per day against the criteria
To provideconstructive and impartial advice in the form of audit feedback to FS to enable them to amend and subsequently re-submit fit-for-purpose reportsÂ
Provide constructive, impartial and supportive advice to FSs who contact the telephone support lines
Maintain professional registration and Authority Approval and to act in accordance with the relevant UK Professional Code of Conduct, being accountable for your own practice and professional actions at all timesÂ
To undertake any other duties, as required by the Business commensurate with the roleÂ
To be clinically calibrated to the standards set by the Chief Medical Officer and Clinical Management Team.Â
What we're looking for :
Essential:
An experienced UK registered Health Professional with a minimum of 12 monthsâ post-registration experience and current and unrestricted professional registration with any of the following bodies: GMC, NMC, HCPC
 A minimum of 16 monthsâ experience as Functional Specialist with current DWP/DfC approval
No restrictions pending or in progress to professional registration
To have an in-depth knowledge of the physiological, pathological, social and cultural issues which underpin the PIP assessment criteria and attention to detailÂ
âTo have demonstrable IT skills as the process involves using bespoke IT systemsÂ
To have demonstrable interpersonal skills including oral and written proficiency to enable the writing of succinct audit feedback and discussion records on CRM, listening carefully to others and ensuring dialogue is two-way recognising FS will have a range of experience and tenureÂ
Desirable
Experience of clinical effectiveness, quality assurance standards, feedback, peer review, audit methodology and, or impartial reviewÂ
To have a working understanding of clinical governanceÂ

The Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) arranges and carries out assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Communities (DfC). The purpose of the assessment is to understand how an illness or disability affects a personâs daily life. After the assessment, the DWP/DfC makes the decision as to whether the individual will receive any benefits. The Health Assessment Advisory Service is delivered on behalf of the DWP & DfC by Capita
