Summary/ObjectiveÂ
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is responsible for heavy compilation including bank reconciliation, general ledger and preparation of a balance sheet and income statement for a growing CPA firm specializing in financial planning to national clientele. Â
Â
Essential FunctionsÂ
Exercise discretion and authority in the preparation of accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the departmentÂ
Establish records of accounts and input entries into proper accountsÂ
Document and ensure proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologiesÂ
Apply advanced knowledge to manage and monitor accounting procedures for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and coordinate and facilitate external audit requirements.Â
Prepare month-end journal entries and assist in compilation of financial statements, reconcile bank statements and general ledgers.Â
Work independently on the completion of audit-quality account reconciliations monthly for balance sheet accounts including the capital projects in progress accounts and miscellaneous revenue accountsÂ
Perform a crucial, first-line role in the audit processÂ

Responsibilities and DutiesÂ
Work independently on monthly and quarterly compilations including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts; assess general ledger for accuracy  Â
Exercise discretion and authority in the preparation of after the fact payroll summaries and record journal entriesÂ
Record journal entries to reconcile balance sheet accounts to supporting documentsÂ
Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations in the preparation of year end Forms 1096 & 1099Â
Work independently with clients as needed to facilitate completion of financial statementsÂ
Responsible for multiple clients; organization of supporting documents; ensure timely financial reports for clients and planning teams while meeting all department production goalsÂ

Education and ExperienceÂ
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution requiredÂ
2-5 years of experience in accounting field requiredÂ
Multi-client CPA firm experience requiredÂ
Experience with Xero accounting software preferred
Proficient in both Microsoft Word and Excel Â
Act as a team player and demonstrate a positive attitudeÂ
Â

This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.  Â

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. Â

Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkÂ
This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed based on management’s approval. A in-office presence may be required for training. This is a hybrid role that allows for remote flexibility with an in-office presence once a week or as business need dictates. The ability to work remotely is allowed based on management’s approval.Â

Compensation
Minimum: $70,000.00 - Maximum: $78,000.00 USD
