Assistant Preschool Teacher

Our Assistant Preschool Teachers are dependable, flexible team players who love working with children ages 2–6 and want to be part of a supportive, collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have a nurturing demeanor, a positive attitude, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed to help create a safe, engaging, and encouraging classroom environment.

Assistant Teachers work closely with the Lead Teacher to support classroom routines, implement planned learning activities, and help children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

• A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and willingness to model Biblical priorities and the core values of C3.
• Successful completion of a C3-initiated background check.
• A cheerful, positive, and encouraging attitude.
• Dependability and flexibility in supporting classroom and preschool needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Lead Teachers, other staff, and preschool leadership.
• Experience working with young children is preferred.
• Willingness to participate in required meetings and trainings.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Lead Teacher in carrying out daily lesson plans, activities, centers, and classroom routines.
• Help prepare classroom materials and learning activities as directed by the Lead Teacher.
• Actively engage with students during learning centers, free play, group activities, recess, and other parts of the preschool day.
• Provide consistent supervision and help maintain a safe classroom environment.
• Assist students with classroom routines, transitions, bathroom needs, snack, and age-appropriate self-help skills.
• Use positive guidance, encouragement, and redirection to support appropriate classroom behavior.
• Help maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming classroom.
• Communicate classroom needs, student concerns, or important observations with the Lead Teacher and Preschool Director.
• Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff to provide consistency for students.
• Help with arrival and dismissal procedures and follow all preschool safety and student-release policies.
• Follow Adventure Kids Preschool policies, procedures, curriculum expectations, and C3 ministry standards.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
• Assist with additional preschool activities, events, and responsibilities as needed.

Reports to: Adventure Kids Preschool Director

Required Hours: 

• Instructional hours: Monday–Thursday, Morning sessions-9:00–11:30 AM, afternoon sessions are 12:30–3:00 PM. Applicants should have availability for AM and/or PM classroom assignments.
• Additional paid preparation time is provided throughout the week.

Compensation: $17.13–$18.20 per hour
