Reporting to the Manager of Canadian Business Communications, thisis anexcitingopportunityforan experiencedcommunicationsprofessionalwitha keen interest in the energy industry and a passion for telling compelling stories about itscriticalrole in supporting communities, economies and quality of life across North America.Based in Calgary, this role offers a unique opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of projects and priorities, partnering with leaders throughout the organization to navigatecomplex issuesand deliver impactful communications.We're looking for a strategic thinker and strong relationship builder who brings sound judgment,creativity and a solutions-focused approach to their work. What You'll Do
Lead strategic communications planning and execution for capital projects and operational activities, aligning messaging with corporateobjectives and stakeholderpriorities.  Â
Drive continuous improvements in project communications byidentifying opportunities to strengthen engagement and connect projectobjectives to broader corporate priorities.Â
Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to translate complex operational,commercialand regulatory topics into clear and effective communications.Â
Provide communications counsel and issues management support,bymonitoring the internal and external environment,identifying emergingissuesanddeveloping proactivemediaresponses. Â
Supportexecutiveandsenior leaders with external speaking opportunities thatreinforce business priorities, strengthen stakeholder understandingof the value and importance of the energy sector.Â
Contribute to internal business communications,supportingan engaged and inspiredteam.Â
Create messaging and materials tofacilitate engagement with communities, government representatives, Indigenouscommunities and other key stakeholders.Â
Develop and implement scalable communications processes, tools and templates that improve consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness across projects.Â
Provide mentorship,guidance and strategic advice to communications team members, helping prioritize work, navigate complex stakeholderenvironments and achieve businessobjectives.Â
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, politicalscience ora related field.Â
10+ years of progressive experience in strategic communications, project communications, publicaffairs ora related field.Â
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory,political and multi-stakeholder environments and translate insights into clear, strategic project communications that alignobjectives, mitigaterisk and drive informed decision-making.Â
Strong project management skills, including experience building workbacks, coordinating approvals, managingdependencies and driving disciplined execution.Â
Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messages for internal and external audiences and develop clear, concise communications materials.Â
Strongissues management judgment, including the ability toanticipate risks, assess implications and coordinate effective responses.Â
Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions and with senior leaders in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Â
Strong organizational skills, attention todetail and ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.Â
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the energy sector or related regulated industriesÂ
Experience supporting communications for capital projects, construction, energy infrastructure or other complex, high-profile initiatives.Â
Experience working across Indigenous, community, government, media,workforce and internal communications files.Â
Familiarity withissues monitoring, stakeholder mapping, communications planningtools and project tracking systems.Â
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and strong follow-through.Â
Experience working with agency partners,contractors or cross-functional project teams.Â
Professional, confident communicator with strong relationship-building and influencing skillsÂ
This position requires candidates to:  Â
Travel periodically, withovernight stays away from home.  Â
Occasionally be available for extended work hours outside of standard business hours to respond to on-call issues (early morning,evening and weekend at times).Â
Participate in our emergency response team and on-call rotation.Â
