Trainee Payroll Officer

We're seeking a motivated Payroll Officer to join our payroll team. If you're looking to build a career in payroll, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn from an experienced team and gain end-to-end payroll experience in a supportive environment. You'll receive on-the-job training and the guidance you need to develop your skills and grow your career.

What you'll do

• Assist with onboarding new employees using Workday and Dayforce, ensuring employee details, remuneration and benefits are set up accurately.

• Support the preparation and processing of fortnightly payrolls, including maintaining payroll data, verifying timesheets and leave, and processing payroll adjustments.

• Maintain accurate employee and payroll records, including banking, tax and superannuation details.

• Ensure payroll activities comply with legislation, company policies and employment agreements while maintaining confidentiality.

• Respond to payroll enquiries, assist with payslips and leave balances, prepare payroll reports, and support end-of-month and end-of-financial-year payroll activities.

What you'll bring

• Previous administration experience, with an interest in building a career in payroll.

• A willingness to learn new systems, with exposure to HR or payroll systems viewed favourably.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

• A proactive attitude with the ability to manage competing priorities.

• Great communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a team.
