Sourcing Manager - Packaging

At Bulla, Procurement is a key driver of business performance, innovation, and supply resilience. We have an exciting opportunity for a Sourcing Manager - Packaging to join our Procurement team based in Derrimut.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will lead the sourcing and supplier management strategy for Bulla's packaging portfolio, driving commercial value, innovation, and cost optimisation across our manufacturing operations. Working as a strategic business partner, you'll develop category strategies, build strong supplier relationships, and support new product innovation. 

Collaborating closely with stakeholders across Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, and Finance, you'll deliver packaging solutions that achieve our objectives across cost, quality, service, and supply, while also providing support across indirect procurement categories as required. 

What’s the Scoop? 

Category Strategy & Ownership 

• Lead the development and execution of packaging category strategies aligned to business priorities 
• Manage a diverse portfolio (rigid plastics, paper, flexible packaging), balancing cost, service, innovation, and risk 
• Identify long-term value opportunities across the supply base 

Strategic Sourcing & Commercial Delivery 

• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including RFX, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and contract execution 
• Deliver measurable savings and value outcomes in line with procurement targets 
• Drive commercial decisions with strong financial and market insight 

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership 

• Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders across Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, and Finance 
• Influence decision-making and support product innovation and cost optimisation initiatives 
• Align procurement strategies with broader business objectives  

Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) 

• Develop and manage strategic supplier partnerships to enhance performance, innovation, and reliability 
• Lead supplier reviews and performance management processes 
• Drive continuous improvement and long-term collaboration

Market Insights & Risk Management 

• Monitor global packaging markets, including resin, paper, and logistics trends 
• Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity 
• Translate market intelligence into actionable procurement strategies 

Sustainability & Innovation 

• Support the delivery of sustainability targets through material innovation and supplier engagement 
• Partner with R&D to identify and implement packaging improvements 
• Drive new product and packaging development initiatives  

What You’ll Bring: 

• Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management within FMCG or manufacturing 
• Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience in negotiations and supplier management 
• Experience developing and executing category strategies 
• Ability to build and influence relationships across cross-functional stakeholder groups 
• Strong analytical capability and proficiency in Excel and procurement systems 
• High level of resilience and ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills 
• Experience in packaging categories (preferred but not essential) 
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related discipline
