TITLE:SR. TRUCK DRIVER

POSITION OBJECTIVE:The role of the CDL Truck Driver is to safely deliver products and render outstanding service to our customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.

• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

• Overtime and weekend work may be required due to production requirements.

• Current Class “A” CDL.
• Current Medical Card.
• Must be 24 years of age.
• Basic math and vocabulary – reading and writing.
• Has a minimum of two (3) years of experience operating tractor/trailer equipment.
• Acceptable Driving Records Consist of:

1. 1. Up to three minor violations and zero accidents in the last 36 months
   2. Up to two minor violations and one not at-fault accident in the last 36 months
   3. No major violations in the last five years. Major violations include, but are not limited to:DUIs, reckless driving, distracted driving, cell phone usage and major speeding violations. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position requires driving a truck and shuttling materials around to various locations.
• Transport material to and from the main facility and the warehouse.
• Transport material to local customers.
• Maintain a company truck and trailer Control the timing and deliveries of materials.
• Make every effort to receive as quickly as possible.
• Complete job tasks in a safe and timely manner.
• Follow all plant rules and regulations pertaining to Safety, Quality, Production, and conduct.
• Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with customers and vendors.
• Conduct pre/post trip inspections of trucks and trailers, including the checking of tire pressures.
• Properly couple or trailers from tractors.
• Properly places the commercial vehicle in operation.
• Properly uses the commercial motor vehicle’s control and emergency equipment.
• Operates the commercial motor vehicle in traffic and while passing other motor vehicles.
• Use proper turning procedures while maneuvering the commercial vehicle.
• Properly brakes and slows the commercial motor vehicle by means other than braking.
• Properly Backs and parks the commercial motor vehicle.
• Properly follows all DOT regulation, procedures and policies.
• Accurately completes paperwork in a timely manner.
• Proper use of safety equipment.
• Manages proof of delivery paperwork from customers.
• Follow the policies and procedures of our Customer’s operations and site.
• Some mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Willingness to comply with company and customer safety rules.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

• Inside and outside environments apply.

AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING:

• The employee in this position can make decisions about delivering his / her shipment in the safest most efficient way to make delivery. No authority is granted in this position.
• This position will seek instructions from the department head in situations that require a decision outside of his routine assignment.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Ability to stand, walk, and change positions frequently over a twelve-hour period. The position requires walking up to 12 hours per work shift. 
• Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. (Lifting requirements up to and including 30 lbs.) (frequently)
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and or legs.
• Must be able to reach and lift above shoulders (frequently)

VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Vision to read and clearly observe.

• Mobile equipment operations, operating cars, trucks, buses, forklift.
• Position requires individuals to differentiate colors, depth, and perception.
