Summary:
The Employee Health & Infection Prevention Nurse is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the hospital's employee health and infection prevention programs. This role promotes a safe environment for patients, staff, providers, and visitors through surveillance, education, regulatory compliance, outbreak management, employee health services, and quality improvement initiatives. The nurse serves as a key resource for infection prevention practices while supporting employee wellness, occupational health, and exposure management activities throughout the organization.How you grow, learn and thrive matters here.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinateemployeehealthservicesincludingnewhirescreenings,immunizationcompliance,TBsurveillance,exposuremanagement,andreturn-to-workclearances.
- Conductinfectionsurveillance,investigatepotentialoutbreaks,andmonitorhealthcare-associatedinfectiontrends.
- Monitorcompliancewithinfectionpreventionpractices,includinghandhygiene,isolationprecautions,sterilization,andenvironmentalsafetystandards.
- Analyzeandreportemployeehealthandinfectionpreventiondatatosupportregulatorycomplianceandperformanceimprovementinitiatives.
- Develop,implement,andmaintainpolicies,procedures,andeducationalprogramsrelatedtoemployeehealth,workplacesafety,andinfectionprevention.
- Serveasaresourceforstaff,providers,andleadershipregardingoccupationalhealth,communicablediseases,andinfectioncontrolstandards.
- Collaboratewithinterdisciplinaryteamstosupportpatientsafety,employeewellness,accreditationreadiness,andemergencypreparednessactivities.
Qualifications:
Education
- Graduateofanaccreditednursingprogramrequired.
- AssociateDegreeinNursing(ADN)required.
- BachelorofScienceinNursing(BSN)preferred.
LicensureandCertifications
- CurrentRegisteredNurse(RN)licenseintheStateofNewMexicorequired.
- CurrentBLScertificationrequired.
- CertificationinInfectionPreventionandControl(CIC)preferredorobtainedwithinadesignatedtimeframe.
Experience
- Minimumthree(3)yearsofclinicalnursingexperiencerequired.
- Previousexperienceinemployeehealth,infectionprevention,occupationalhealth,qualityimprovement,publichealth,oracutecarenursingstronglypreferred.
- Experienceinterpretinghealthcareregulationsandinfectionsurveillancedatapreferred
