We are currently seeking aQuantity Estimator to join ourfast-growingteam inToronto. As a member of our team, you will work in a dynamic environment that fosters growth with every project. This position reports to the Senior Project Estimator.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work independently or as part of a team to prepare estimates and budgets. 
  • Perform preliminary and detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications using assembly-based on-screen takeoff software. 
  • Prepare
    quantity take-offs
    for conceptual, design-build, construction management, or general tenderprojects. 
  • Review
    proposal specifications and drawings todetermine
    thescope of work. 
  • Prepare tenderpackages for subcontractor bidding. 
  • Liaise with subcontractors forbid requests, questions, and follow-ups. 
  • Review sub-contractors’
    tenders and prepare preliminary analyses for review. 
  • Evaluatedesign options and recommendthebest solution based on cost, engineering quality, ormaterial available. 
  • Assist project management teams with subcontractor awards, quantity analysis, and change orders


 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • Successful completion of a Civil or ConstructionEngineeringManagement diploma or equivalent;
    or
    a minimum of 1-3 years of relatedconstructionestimating experience,preferably with general contractors. 
  • Strong computer skills,particularly in MS Excel and Excelformulas 
  • Ability to read andinterpret
    drawings and specifications 
  • Capable of accurately preparing avariety of quantity take-offs across all CSI(Construction Specifications Institute)divisions of work 
  • Excellent organizational, time management, andplanning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Experiencewith onscreen takeoff software 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision 
  • Possess reliable transportation for traveltotheToronto Head Office orjobsiteslocated throughout the GTA, asneeded.
