Job Description:
TheGlobal Procurement S2C & Operations Senior Manager is accountable for driving global contracting excellence across Castrol by developing, standardising, and modernising procurement contract templates, processes, and digital tools. The role ensures Castrol’s contracting framework is robust, efficient, and aligned with legal, compliance, and business requirements globally. This position also leads change across procurement to uplift contracting capability and support the organisation through transformation toward a digitally enabled contracting model.
TheGlobal Procurement S2C & Operations Senior Manager also leads the strategic sourcing and procurement operation teams who perform sourcing & contracting activities and procurement operations. The senior manager ensures business requirements and demand are attended prompty, applying the commercial mindset to deliver best value to the business. In addition, business purchasing requests are processed accurately and promptly in compliance to the relevant policies & procedures, and align to category strategy and approved buying channels.
The senior manager has a strategic collaboration with stakeholders globally to understand demand and work with category team to deliver step changes in 3rd party spend by applying innovative solutions and change management. The senior manager cultivate strong commercial acumen among the teams to help in delivering secure optimal, compliant, and competitive, risk-managed procurement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Contracting Excellence
Lead and manage contracting advisory activities across procurement to ensure alignment with contracting principles.
Develop and maintain contract templates in alignment to internal policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
Drive harmonisation of contracting processes across categories – providing cross-divisional process standards.
Coordinate with the process owners, SMEs and procurement teams to update and standardise contract templates and approach where appropriate, share learning and best practices, and ensure alignment with the end-to-end process objectives and initiatives in alignment to compliances and risk management.
Maintain updated contracting knowledge repository (including policies and procedures) and communicate appropriately to procurement practitioners.
Work with process excellence team to run contracting knowledge café to support the upskilling of contracting capabilities in procurement practitioners.
Manage and oversee the procurement authorities for Castrol.
Ensure the annual renewal of signing authorities for procurement contracts are being completed.
Lead and drive Contract Board Governance.
Operation Delivery
Oversees sourcing & contracting and procurement operations.
Provides energizing and engaging leadership for their team or virtual team and clear direction.
Good stakeholder manager, cultivating relationships with business stakeholders, aligning on business and category priorities and collaborating to deliver them.
Delivers modernization & transformation activities, leading optimization of process aligned to the broader procurement and category strategic transformation agenda.
Manages relevant KPIs, including performance and compliance metrics.
Provide end to end proactive monitoring and management of demand pipeline to ensure workload priritisation drives better user experience and on time transaction processing to suppliers.
Resolve complex issues that are escalated by the team and oversee and monitor their performance.
Ensure continuous operation for business continuity.
Procurement delivery – Provides advice to the business & PU procurement team on day-to-day operations. Provides oversight or interventions on operational issues, escalating to the relevant business stakeholders and relevant teams, as needed, to ensure timely resolution and prevent leakage.
Unlocks value and support procurement performance in line with procurement policy and category execution.
Transformation & Change Management
Implement sourcing & contracting transformation initiatives, which deliver incremental business value.
Leverage digital solutions to drive innovation, enhancing efficiency, effectiveness and value creation.
Partner with internal discipline teams to automate contracting activities and drive efficiency.
Use influencing, storytelling and communication to encourage digital adoption and better data quality for decision making.
Team Integration
Helps to create and embraces a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement in their teams. Develops their technical skills and represents the interests of their region / site / asset across procurement and the broader organization.
Collaborates across procurement with the business and, where appropriate, with suppliers to create a ‘one team’ mentality.
Builds region / site / asset knowledge across the wider procurement organization to ensure delivery of their objectives.
Develops their technical capabilities and accelerator skills.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management
Uses storytelling to communicate impactfully with stakeholders and external partners, respectfully challenging to achieve the right outcomes, resolving conflict and focusing on priorities.
Influences through complexity and ambiguity, managing virtual relationships with stakeholders in multi-discipline, multi-cultural environments.
Builds good stakeholder relationships, bringing market insights and championing supplier value whilst taking time to understand business needs. Becomes a trusted advisor and critical partner to stakeholders.
Builds relationships with the procurement teams globally, understanding stakeholder feedback and proactively working to build procurements reputation and ROI.
Essential Experience, Job Requirements & Education
Degree educated - something related to Legal and contracting preferred - or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Post graduate qualification related to contract management desirable.
Knowledge of procurement contract management.
Ability to develop a quick understanding of business objectives and synergise it with contracting strategy.
Strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
An understanding of working in and navigating complex multi-national businesses.
Track record in collaborating with businesses / stakeholders to deliver continuous improvement.
Experience in leading initiatives internationally, recognizing cultural nuances, analyzing data-driven trends & insights, and employing agile/flexible approaches.
An advocate for our code, they incorporate the Operating Management System (OMS) and our safety leadership principles into strategies and everyday work.
Brings multiple parties (procurement, business, suppliers) together to collaboratively solve complex problems.
Good judgement in order to translate business requirements into a strategic delivery plan, aligned with the categories, to inform strategic decisions.
Strong senior stakeholder networking and influencing skills to ensure buy in and adoption, building a reputation as a strategic partner to the regions / sites / assets.
Experience in regular interaction with external suppliers and representing Castrol externally.
