Staff Engineer - Physical Analysis Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for performing and coordinating physical analyses of ECUs following validation testing and customer returns. You will investigate failure mechanisms, evaluate component aging and damage, and support development and reliability activities through analytical and laboratory work. The position also includes technical documentation, test supervision, supplier-related activities, and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Perform physical analysis and failure investigations on ECUs based on DV test results and customer returns.
  • Evaluate component aging, damage mechanisms, assembly quality, and interconnection technologies using analytical methods such as microscopy, SEM, SAM, EDX, X-ray, and cross-sectional analysis.
  • Document and report analysis results, participate in 8D activities, and support reliability engineers with analysis and material science expertise.
  • Develop and introduce new analysis methods, maintain assigned laboratory equipment, and initiate experiments related to failures and aging mechanisms.
  • Prepare, supervise, and evaluate tests, support design and development activities, and contribute to the cost-effective implementation of functional and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate in SE teams, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, support supplier selection and procurement in technical matters, and ensure compliance with project timelines and cost targets.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automotive/Transportation Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in physical analysis, failure analysis, product validation, reliability engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Experience with laboratory and analytical techniques such as microscopy, X-ray inspection, SEM, EDX or similar analysis methods is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate technical failures and identify root causes.
  • Professional working proficiency in Hungarian and English; German language skills are considered an advantage.
