We're looking for a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Queretaro, Mexico for the Vehicle Motion Steering (VM-ST). In this role, you'll take ownership of designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions for automotive industry. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to transform complex technical requirements into robust, manufacturable designs that drive our organization forward. - Design and develop 3D mechanical concepts and comprehensive part lists for customized machines and equipment used in advanced manufacturing environments
- Management of Engineering changes in coordination with other roles and departments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical designs meet technical, functional, operational, and quality requirements
- Manage and organize product data using Product Data Management (PDM) systems, including Creo Parametric & Windchill to maintain design integrity and traceability
- Define and apply tolerance chain specifications for tooling and machinery to ensure precision and performance standards
- Conduct on-site acceptance testing and validation at supplier facilities to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize designs, reduce costs, and enhance product performance
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and specifications in accordance with industry standards and organizational guidelines
- Perform 2D and 3D Stackups and tolerance calculations
**Education**
- Bachelor´s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
**Experience**
- Experience in machine design, equipment development, or related mechanical engineering roles
- Proven expertise with 3D CAD mechanical design software (Creo Parametric, or similar platforms)
- Demonstrated experience with PLM/PDM systems; Windchill or similar platforms
- Background in defining tolerance chains and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
