BermudAir is seeking an experienced and strategicHead of Maintenance (AMO Post Holder) to join our growing team. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safety, regulatory compliance, reliability, and operational efficiency of BermudAir's maintenance organisation across its expanding network.

BermudAir is Bermuda's home carrier, operating a fleet of Embraer E175 and E190 aircraft. Our hub at L.F. Wade International Airport connects Bermuda with destinations across North America and the Caribbean.

Position Summary

As the Head of Maintenance and AMO Post Holder, you will provide senior leadership and oversight of BermudAir's Approved Maintenance Organisation, ensuring compliance with applicable OTAR Part 145 requirements and maintaining the highest standards of aircraft safety and airworthiness.


You will oversee line maintenance operations across the BermudAir network, lead and develop maintenance personnel, collaborate with Engineering and operational teams on maintenance programmes and fleet planning, and act as the primary maintenance contact with the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA).


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the AMO Post Holder and provide overall leadership and oversight of BermudAir's maintenance organisation
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable OTAR Part 145 requirements and relevant regulatory standards
  • Oversee all line maintenance stations across the BermudAir network
  • Collaborate with Engineering and operational teams on maintenance programmes, fleet planning, and continuing airworthiness
  • Promote a strong safety culture and participate in BermudAir's Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Lead, develop, and support a team of engineers and maintenance personnel
  • Monitor maintenance activities to ensure they are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory and company requirements
  • Serve as the primary maintenance point of contact with the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA)
  • Manage maintenance budgets, supplier relationships, and maintenance contracts
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency, reliability, and operational performance
  • Provide clear analysis, reporting, and recommendations to senior management
  • Travel frequently across the BermudAir network to support maintenance operations and station requirements


Qualifications

  • ICAO-compliant aircraft maintenance engineer licence
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in commercial aircraft maintenance
  • Proven experience in line maintenance operations
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Part 145 regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience within an aviation maintenance environment
  • Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance, airworthiness, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Technical, Engineering, Flight Operations, and other operational teams
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to summarise information and present clear actions to management
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the BermudAir network


Desirable

  • Type rating on the Embraer E-Jet family
  • Degree in aeronautical engineering or a related field
  • Experience working with aviation authorities and regulatory oversight bodies
  • Experience with start-up airlines or rapidly growing aviation organisations
  • Experience supporting fleet changes, aircraft introductions, or fleet transitions
