Role Summary

The Senior Software Engineer is a hands-on technical expert responsible for designing and developing production-grade applications and microservices usingJava, Spring Boot, GCP, and Kubernetes, along withGenerative AI and Agentic AI solutions using Python, Vertex AI, and ADK. The role involves building rapid AI prototypes and POCs, developingReact-based conversational UIs and widgets, and taking solutions through the full lifecycle from design to production deployment. The engineer will focus onscalability, security, reliability, and cost efficiency, while contributing to reusable engineering patterns, best practices, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Software & Full Stack Engineering

• Design and develop scalable applications usingJava/JDK 17+, Spring Boot and microservices.
• Build REST APIs and integrate with enterprise systems, relational/NoSQL databases and external services.
• Develop modern web applications and conversational widgets usingReact and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Apply sound software engineering principles, design patterns, automated testing and code quality practices.

GenAI & Agentic AI

• DevelopGenAI and Agentic AI POCs using Python, Vertex AI, ADK and related frameworks.
• Build agentic workflows involvingtool calling, planning, memory/context management and guardrails.
• ImplementRAG, embeddings, vector search and prompt engineering solutions.
• Build integrations usingModel Context Protocol (MCP) and other LLM tool/function-calling frameworks.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and transition successful POCs into production-grade solutions.

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Build and deploy cloud-native applications onGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Work withGKE/Kubernetes, Docker, Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub and Secret Manager.
• Implement CI/CD, monitoring, logging, error handling and production observability.
• Optimize application and LLM workloads forperformance, scalability and cost.
• Develop data pipelines usingDataflow, Apache Beam or Spark where required.

Engineering Leadership & Quality

• Participate in architecture, design discussions and code reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute reusable engineering patterns and best practices.
• Ensure production readiness through testing, observability, resiliency and operational support.
• Apply security and Responsible AI practices including IAM, secrets management, data protection, guardrails and audit logging.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience withJava/JDK 17+, Spring Boot and microservices.
• Strong understanding ofOOP, data structures, design patterns and REST APIs.
• Experience withGCP, Docker and Kubernetes/GKE.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience withReact and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working experience withPython, particularly for AI/GenAI development.
• Experience withGit, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD and automated testing.

Preferred Skills

• Experience withVertex AI and Google ADK or comparable Agentic AI frameworks.
• Experience developingMCP servers/tools or ChatGPT integrations.
• Experience building conversational AI/chatbot applications and interactive widgets.
• Experience withBigQuery, Pub/Sub and event-driven architectures.
• Exposure toTerraform/Infrastructure-as-Code and LLMOps.
• Understanding of enterprise security includingIAM, JWT/OAuth, Okta/IAP and Secret Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years of software engineering experience, with strong enterprise application development experience.
• Exposure to buildingGenAI/Agentic AI solutions and taking POCs toward production.
