Position Overview  

TheDepartment of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineeringis accepting applications for a part-timeLecturer appointment to serve astheinstructorforCIVILEN4320or 4350in Spring 2027 semester.  

CIVILEN 4320 and 4350 are design coursesin thecivilengineering programthat provides students with theirinitial design experiences in steel and reinforced concrete, respectively.

More specifically, CIVILEN 4320 provides students with exposure to the design of steel tensile members, compression members, beams, beam-columns, and bolted and welded connections based on AISC Specifications while CIVILEN 4350 provides students with exposure to the analysis and design of reinforced concrete beams, one-way slabs and columns under flexure, shear and axial loads.  

Duties include but are not limitedto: developing and delivering course materials, holding office hours; grading assignments andsubmitting grades; mayparticipate in curriculum development and course coordination. 

Both courses aretaught in-person on the University’s main campus in Columbus. CIVILEN 4320meets onTuesday and Thursdayfrom12:45 –2:05 pm,whereas CIVILEN 4350 meets Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 – 9:20 am. Both courses meet every week. 

Selection of the course will bedetermined based upon the specific qualificationsandexpertise of the candidateapplicant pool.
