Technical Project Manager
from 🇮🇳 India
About Avahi
Avahi Inc. is a rapidly growing startup and an AWS Advanced Tier Partner, specializing in providing cutting-edge cloud solutions and professional services. Our mission is to drive digital transformation and cloud adoption for our clients, leveraging AWS's extensive suite of services.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will own customer communication and manage the entire project lifecycle for enterprise cloud engagements, ensuring successful delivery of cloud and GenAI solutions. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong technical background, structured project management discipline, senior-stakeholder management skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Communication: Own and manage all customer communications throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring transparency and satisfaction.
- Stakeholder Management: Independently identify, engage, and manage stakeholders across the customer organization — including business, technical, and executive stakeholders — rather than relying on a single point of contact for requirements or direction.
- Project Kickoff and Onboarding: Schedule and facilitate internal and kickoff calls, onboard the team and customers for project delivery.
- Project Management: Create and manage the lifecycle of projects using Jira boards, ensuring all tasks are tracked and completed on time.
- Structured Status Reporting: Drive daily and weekly status communication using structured PM frameworks such as RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), RAG (Red/Amber/Green) status, and YTB (Yesterday/Today/Blockers) — rather than unstructured, plain-text updates.
- Timely Updates: Provide regular, consolidated project updates to leadership, customers, and AWS sellers, ensuring all stakeholders are informed.
- Timesheet Review and Approval: Review and approve delivery team timesheets to ensure accurate billing and project tracking.
- Team Allocation: Update allocation boards for teams in Clockify, ensuring efficient resource management.
- Project Ownership: Be the project owner, driving delivery for successful outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- KPI Management: Drive the three key KPIs: keeping the project within budget, ensuring timely delivery, and achieving CSAT scores of 8 and above — with the ability to clearly explain the process and metrics used to achieve these outcomes.
- Multi-Project Management: Take on and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all are delivered successfully.
- Project Retrospectives: Conduct retrospectives for projects as needed to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous improvement.
- Scope Management: Recognize changes in project scope and facilitate the creation of change orders to manage project changes effectively.
- Budget and Timeline Tracking: Keep track of and drive project budgets and timelines, ensuring financial and temporal goals are met.
- Risk Management: Manage a risk register and develop mitigation plans to address potential project risks proactively.
Requirements:
Experience
- Extensive experience managing AWS professional services engagements, with a proven track record of owning delivery for complex, high-value, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise clients (large, multi-stakeholder customer organizations) — able to speak in specific, verifiable detail about the engagements, budgets, and stakeholders involved.
- Proven, explainable track record of on-time delivery and CSAT outcomes — candidates should be able to walk through the actual process, tools, and metrics used to achieve any delivery/CSAT numbers cited on their resume.
- Experience working with Jira for project management.
- Familiarity with Clockify or similar time-tracking tools is a plus.
Project Management Skills
- Working knowledge of core PM frameworks used for status reporting and risk tracking — RAID, RAG, and YTB — and ability to apply them in daily/weekly stakeholder communication.
- Strong, independent stakeholder management skills: able to gather requirements directly from multiple stakeholders (not solely through a single technical escalation point such as a CTO), manage competing priorities, and communicate consolidated (not plain-text) updates.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams at all levels, including executives.
Technical & GenAI Awareness
- Solid technical understanding of the AWS services relevant to the projects being managed, with the ability to explain project architecture and delivery approach beyond a surface level.
- Working awareness of GenAI fundamentals and modern agentic frameworks (e.g., multi-agent orchestration concepts) sufficient to manage GenAI-related delivery workstreams and speak credibly with technical stakeholders.
Certifications (Preferred)
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification preferred.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred.
