Senior Microsoft System Engineer (Enterprise Infrastructure)

About the Role

We are looking for an experiencedSenior Microsoft System Engineer to join a large-scale enterprise IT environment. You will play a key role in the administration, optimization, automation and continuous improvement of the Microsoft infrastructure while ensuring high availability, security and operational excellence.

This role requires strong technical expertise, a proactive mindset and the ability to operate within complex enterprise environments supporting more than 1,000 users.

Your Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and continuously improve enterprise Microsoft server environments.
• Install, configure and manage Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure (Windows Server 2016 and newer).
• Perform server patching, lifecycle management and infrastructure updates.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory, including users, groups, permissions and security policies.
• Support and further develop enterprise identity and access management solutions.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity environments.
• Manage and operate ADFS and/or Okta authentication services.
• Implement and integrate Microsoft System Center solutions, with a strong focus on Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
• Develop, maintain and optimize PowerShell scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Analyse system, application and event logs to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, platform improvements and technology upgrades.
• Document system changes, operational procedures and technical implementations.
• Work according to ITIL best practices, including Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request Management.
• Contribute to the strategic evolution and modernization of the enterprise infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

Professional Experience

• Several years of hands-on experience as a Microsoft System Engineer within complex enterprise environments.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise infrastructures with more than 1,000 users.
• Senior or Expert level with demonstrated technical leadership and deep infrastructure expertise.

Technical Skills

Microsoft Infrastructure

• Strong expertise with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or newer.
• Excellent knowledge of enterprise server security best practices.
• Extensive experience with server installation, configuration, patching and update management.
• Advanced administration of Microsoft Active Directory.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft’s Tiering Model (Tier 0, Tier 1 and Tier 2).
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID administration.
• Experience administering ADFS and/or Okta environments.

Endpoint & Systems Management

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
• Experience with Microsoft System Center solutions.
• Experience with Ansible is considered a strong advantage.

Identity & Access Management

• Experience with enterprise Identity Management solutions.
• Knowledge of Omada and Adaxes is highly desirable.

Automation

• Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
• Experience developing automation solutions for operational efficiency.

Operations

• Experience analysing system logs, event logs and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of ITIL operational processes.
• Experience documenting infrastructure changes and operational procedures.
• Experience contributing to infrastructure improvements and modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Relevant Microsoft certifications are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in large enterprise environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• English language skills at B2/C1 level are considered an advantage.
