Automation Engineer

Overview
Our customer is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Software Development Engineer in Test(SDET)with a passion for innovation and excellence in software testing with 4-7 Years of overall experience . The ideal candidate will be proficient in automation frameworks like Playwright, selenium and have hands-on experience with shell scripting, BDD framework, and possess a strong understanding of AWS services. The candidate will be responsible for testing both UI components , Backend, APIs, Batch jobs and automating end-to-end workflows, and contributing to process improvements and documentation.

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright, Selenium, and scripting technologies.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing activities.
• Validate web applications, backend services, APIs, databases, batch processing systems, and cloud resources.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Create and maintain automated workflows to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Coordinate end-to-end testing efforts across multiple teams and products.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate automated testing into deployment processes.
• Participate in code reviews and recommend improvements to quality, maintainability, and testability.
• Develop and maintain testing standards, documentation, runbooks, and best practices.
• Track test artefacts, defects, and execution results using tools such as Jira and source control systems.
• Maintain test development tools, repositories, and release systems.
• Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices.
• Identify, communicate, and escalate testing risks and project impediments.
• Perform manual testing when required.
• Innovate and recommend improvements that increase automation effectiveness and efficiency.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of QA automation experience.
• Strong programming experience using Java or Python.
• Strong shell scripting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, or comparable automation frameworks.
• Experience testing APIs, backend services, and web-based applications.
• Experience working within Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of database querying and data validation.
• Working knowledge of AWS services.
• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira and TestRail.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• AWS certification(s).
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Knowledge of Docker or other containerization technologies.
• Exposure to security testing and accessibility testing practices.
• Experience working with ETL tools.
• Experience building solutions or prototypes that leverage Generative AI, LLMs, or APIs such as OpenAI.
