As our new Electrical Design Engineer, youâll be a vital part of the Industrial EI&C team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to be carbon neutral and sustainable.
Your role will include:
- In-depth knowledge of heavy industrial and process plant projects
- A fundamental knowledge of key Australian Standards
- Client interfacing
- Experience in detailed design of electrical, instrumentation and control systems
- Experience with power systems software

What are we looking for from you?

We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life.
As well as experience in a similar electrical engineering role previously. You would require:
- Completed a Degree in Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
- A minimum of 5 yearsâ post graduate experience working on detailed design for industrial projects, process plants, energy sector, water sector, transport sector or mining projects ensuring quality deliverables while meeting agreed schedules.
- Applied knowledge of âin-plantâ electrical distribution (MV and LV systems) and motor control systems
- Applied knowledge of relevant standards including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008.1.1 and AS/NZS 2067.
- Experience across all project development phases including concept, FEED and detail design
- Experience with power systems design and modelling software such as PowerCad, ETAP or equivalent.
- Ability to proactively interact with Project Managers, discipline engineers and designers to support project deliverables.
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Understanding of renewable energy, industrial communications systems, SCADA, PLC/DCS, industrial networking and communication systems, Hazardous Areas, and Functional Safety would be viewed favourably.
