Market Operations Intern - Global Crypto Exchange

Note: We are looking for either a local intern based in Sydney, available part-time (2-3 days per week), or an international student seeking a 5-6 month full-time placement in Sydney as part of their university requirements. We are hiring for up to two positions.

About the Role

• We're looking for a Market Operations Intern to support the day-to-day operations of the exchange, working at the intersection of traditional finance and emerging digital assets.
• This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong eye for detail who is passionate about financial markets and crypto, and who wants real exposure to how a crypto exchange operates.

Responsibilities

• Order Approval: Support the review and approval of transaction requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Currency Exchange Management: Assist with multi-currency exchange processes, covering both traditional and emerging digital assets
• Market Monitoring: Track real-time market data, identify trends, and provide insights to help optimise exchange strategies
• Compliance & Risk Control: Follow regulatory guidelines, verify client details, and maintain secure transaction records
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, finance, operations) to improve user experience and operational workflows

About You

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience in crypto and trading, either through a formal internship or through extensive personal trading or crypto experience (including university projects).
• Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret market data, understand risk profiles, and make informed decisions
• Strong attention to detail, as accuracy in transaction approvals and currency exchange tasks is critical
• Strong communication skills and able to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Tech-savvy, comfortable navigating online platforms, and quick to learn new tools
