Course Description

Theoretical approaches and specific teaching methods appropriate to the needs of students with emotional or behaviour problems, including students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Multimodal team intervention approaches are emphasized. Application component: application of teaching methods with students experiencing behaviour difficulties.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):

Education

  • Master’s or PhD in Educational Psychology, Human Development, Applied Psychology, Child Development, Clinical Psychology, or equivalent

Experience

  • Background and/or courses in inclusive education
  • Background and/or courses in the area of behavioral difficulties in schools
  • Experience working with teachers

Other

  • Adherence to evolving program requirements concerning course content and program-developed competencies; course content and references must reflect the most current advances in the field.​

Additional Information


Effective dates of appointment are December 21, 2026 to April 23, 2027. Course dates are from January 5, 2027 to April 14, 2027. This course will be offered in-person on campus at McGill.
