We’re looking for an experiencedSenior DevOps Engineer to join us on acontract basis in New York, working on a client engagement focused on building, improving and supporting scalable cloud infrastructure.

If you’re an experienced DevOps engineer who enjoys solving difficult infrastructure problems, automating everything you can and working closely with development teams, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Data Intellect, you’ll work within a highly technical environment where reliability, scalability and performance matter. You’ll:

• Build, improve and extendAWS infrastructure supporting production applications and services.
• Implement and manageKubernetes environments and create and upgradeHelm charts.
• Build and improveCI/CD pipelines, automating build, testing and deployment processes.
• UseInfrastructure as Code, including Terraform and Ansible, to create consistent and repeatable environments.
• Improvemonitoring and logging, helping teams identify issues and optimise application and infrastructure performance.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes usingBash and Python.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, database and production issues.
• Work closely with software engineers to improve development and deployment processes.
• Help design scalable architecture for large customer environments.
• Identify opportunities to improveperformance, reliability, security and cloud cost efficiency.
• Support incident management, root-cause analysis, disaster recovery and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

• 5+ years' DevOps / infrastructure engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience withAWS.
• Excellent knowledge ofLinux administration.
• Strong experience withDocker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience withTerraform and Ansible.
• Experience building and managingCI/CD pipelines; GitLab CI/CD experience is particularly useful.
• Strong scripting skills usingBash and/or Python.
• Good understanding ofcloud networking, routing and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with web services such asNGINX, Apache and Tomcat.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex production issues.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Bonus Points For

• Experience withHelm and managing Kubernetes deployments at scale.
• Experience withlogging and monitoring platforms.
• Knowledge ofSQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience implementingDevSecOps practices.
• Cloud cost optimisation and performance engineering experience.
• Experience designing infrastructure forPaaS or enterprise customer environments.
• Previous experience withinfinancial services or capital markets.
