Business Systems Analyst

The Business Systems Analyst provides development and technical support for accounting, payroll, HR, recruiting, and financial planning systems, including Workday and Adaptive Planning. The role supports system administration, reporting, troubleshooting, security, integrations, enhancements, updates, patches, upgrades, documentation, and end-user support in accordance with internal change management procedures.

What you’ll do

  • Provide development and technical support for accounting, payroll, HR, recruiting, and financial planning systems, including Workday and Adaptive Planning.

  • Assist with support and reporting in the Workday Accounting, Payroll, HR, Learning, Recruiting, and Financial Planning subsystems.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to collect ideas and potential projects to improve current systems.

  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on Workday and Adaptive Planning capabilities, upgrades, and new releases.

  • Analyze, configure, test, and release new features and enhancements while following internal change management procedures.

  • Administer system security, user roles, and assignments in Workday and Adaptive Planning.

  • Provide end-user support, including troubleshooting, report maintenance, and development of reports and self-service reporting solutions.

  • Analyze reporting needs, create specifications, and assist in the maintenance and development of reports and self-service reporting solutions.

  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and queries as needed.

  • Identify opportunities and implement changes to streamline reporting.

  • Develop and document administrative and maintenance processes and procedures.

  • Evaluate, test, troubleshoot, and deploy system updates, patches, and upgrades.

  • Design, build, and coordinate integrations in Workday and Adaptive Planning.

  • Create dashboards and reports in Workday and Power BI / Fabric.

  • Document technical solutions in clear, comprehensive language that can be used by technical and non-technical resources.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you'll need

  • Experience managing Adaptive Planning and its development functions.

  • Experience managing the Workday platform and its development functions.

  • Understanding of Salesforce CRM.

  • Compelling interest in enterprise Finance and HR systems and best practices.

  • Knowledge of configuring enterprise systems.

  • Ability to create dashboards and reports in Workday and Power BI / Fabric.

  • Ability to design, build, and coordinate integrations in Workday and Adaptive Planning.

  • Ability to create technical documentation.

  • Ability to analyze reporting needs, create specifications, and maintain reports and self-service reporting solutions.

  • Ability to evaluate, test, troubleshoot, and deploy system updates, patches, and upgrades.

  • Ability to establish, document, and maintain procedures and processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with technical and non-technical staff.

  • Collaborative style and ability to work in a team-based environment while completing tasks independently.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to ASU Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries, and university business.

  • Possess an advocate’s belief in the vision of ASU as the New American University.

Relevant qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Business, or related field.

  • 48 months (4 years) of experience in an information systems related field of employment with Workday Administration, including Adaptive Planning.

  • No alternate combinations of education, training, or experience are accepted.
