⚡ EC&I Responsible Engineer (RE)

The RE is fully accountable for all electrical, control & instrumentation (EC&I) engineering within their area, ensuring work issafe ✅, compliant 📋, and fit for purpose 🔧 across the full lifecycle.

They providetechnical leadership 👷‍♂️, set standards, oversee assurance, and retain responsibility for all engineering decisions (including delegated ones).

🔍 Essential Experience

  • Proven EC&I delivery inregulated, safety-critical environments ⚠️
  • Strong track record oftechnical accountability & decision-making 🧠
  • Experience with:
    • PES, Cyber, Instrumentation & Electrical Distribution ⚡
    • UK compliance (UKCA, LV, EMC, Machinery) 🇬🇧
    • Plant room design & engineering governance 🏗️
  • Leadingmulti-disciplinary teams 👥 and resolving complex risks
  • Working withprojects, safety, regulators & assurance bodies 🤝
  • Promotingsafety, quality & compliance culture 🛡️

⭐ Desirable

  • Experience as an RE (or equivalent) innuclear/high-hazard environments ☢️
  • Full lifecycle delivery:concept → commissioning → handover 🔄
  • Knowledge ofSEMS & gated engineering processes 📊

🎓 Essential Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) inElectrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering ⚡
  • Extensive EC&I experience suited to aResponsible Engineer role 👷‍♂️
  • Chartered Engineer status 🏅 (or equivalent experience)
  • Ability to meetsecurity clearance & site access requirements 🔐
  • SQEP compliant withSR0696 & ED21 standards 📋

⭐ Desirable Qualifications

  • Fellowship / senior membership 🏆 of a professional engineering body
  • Training innuclear safety ☢️, functional safety 🛡️, or systems engineering 🔧
  • Postgraduate qualification 🎓 in engineering or management
