Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure Track), Physician Assistant Program
Saint Louis University, a Catholic Jesuit institution dedicated to education, research, healthcare and service,is accepting applications for anon-tenure track,12-month0.8FTEassistant professorprincipalfaculty appointment in thePhysician Assistant (PA) Program within the Clinical Health SciencesDepartment.This is a one-year contract position with the possibility of renewal.This principal faculty memberwill report to the PA ProgramDirectorand will activelyparticipate inPhase I (didactic) and Phase II (clinical) coursework and activities,with opportunities for leadership development within the Program.
As a full-timeuniversity faculty member, theywill be involved inPA student instruction andadvising/counseling, faculty development, scholarly activity,as well asservice to theUniversity, thecommunity and the profession. Ideally,they willpractice clinically 4-8 hoursperweek.As a principal faculty member of the PAProgram,they will alsoparticipate in admissions activities,student remediation,academic/professionalprogressions,didactic and clinical curricularactivities andassessment,and ongoing program assessment.Depending on interest and credentials, the successful candidate may also teach in the new online Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) program.
Qualifications
NCCPA certification and eligibility for PA licensure in Missourior Illinoisarerequired
Alignment with the mission of theUniversity and theProgram
Master's degreerequired; a doctoral degreeorstated interest in its acquisition isstronglypreferred
At least three years ofclinicalexperiencerequired
Academic or clinical health-related teaching andscholarship preferred

PA Program
The PA Program at Saint Louis University is housed in the Department of Clinical Health Sciences within the Doisy College of Health Sciences. The SLU Program began in 1971 and hasmaintained a rich tradition of providing itsstudents with a rigorous education delivered in the spirit ofcurapersonalis. The Programgraduatedits first cohort of PA students in 1973 and hasmaintained continuous ARC-PA accreditation sincethattime.An online, asynchronous Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) degree is slated to begin January 2027. The Program currently employs9 full-time faculty members and2 support staff members.
