## About Aside

We’re building Aside, the most intelligent AI browser that handles everyday complex work. Our vision is the agentic operating system for personal workflows, built on a crafted browser user experience.

After our viral launch in June 2026, we got 3M+ views, 20K+ users within two weeks. We’re backed by Y Combinator and angels such as Dane Knecht (Cloudflare).

## The Context

Aside is software people live in every day, so design is core to the product, not a layer added at the end. Our challenge is to combine familiar browser interactions with a new kind of AI assistant experience without making either feel bolted on.

We’re looking for our first founding designer to define this system end to end, from the first prototype to the last pixel.

## What you can expect to work on

* **Rethink the browser interface for AI.** Combine 30 years of familiar browser conventions with entirely new AI capabilities, while making the product feel native to both macOS and Windows.
* **Design a new interface for agents.** Chat alone is not the answer. You’ll define generated interfaces, controls, progress states, review, and recovery for work ranging from cross-tool research and document creation to personalized outreach at scale.
* **Create thoughtful coworking experiences inside the web.** Help people find the right page, understand or translate content, complete forms, compare options, and hand work to Aside without breaking their flow. The assistance should feel calm, clear, and trustworthy.
* **Own the product surface end to end.** Shape onboarding, browser chrome, task interfaces, settings, and the design system that ties them together. Prototype quickly, work closely with engineers, and stay involved until the implementation feels right.

## What we’re looking for

* **Taste.** You can explain exactly why an interaction works, not just whether it looks good. Show us product designs you love and tell us what makes them exceptional.
* **Obsession with craft.** You care about typography, spacing, motion, native platform conventions, and every detail between the happy path and the edge cases.
* **Systems thinking.** You design reusable primitives and patterns, not one-off screens. Your work should solve today’s product needs while making the next ten ideas easier to build.
* **Proactivity.** You create your own tasks. When something feels missing or below the bar, you propose a solution and improve it as if the product were your own.

We care more about the quality of your work and the slope of your growth than your credentials. Send us live products, prototypes, screenshots, or anything else that shows how you think and build.

## How we work

* We’re a small, talent-dense team. Everyone has broad ownership.
* You'll work directly with the founders.
* You’ll directly talk to users through our community and interviews.
* Our office is based in San Francisco.
* We can help on housing (we have co-living house) and visa (depends on the situation).
