Section 1: Position Summary
The Renewal Sales Director is responsible for leading and executing the strategy to retain Core Retirementâs largest and most complex clients. This role is critical to growing revenue by improving retention outcomes across large-plan clients and will leverage deep organizational knowledge, strong leadership presence, and broad internal followership to influence outcomes, mobilize cross-functional support, and drive disciplined retention practices.
**We have 1 opening for this position that is available to be remote, preferably on the East Coast.**

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Â
Lead Large-Plan Retention StrategyÂ
Own and execute the retention strategy for Core Retirementâs largest and most strategically important clientsÂ
Personally engage in high-risk renewal situations, bringing senior-level influence to drive successful outcomesÂ
Develop and lead tailored retention strategies that address pricing, service, relationship, and competitive dynamicsÂ
Â
Influence Through Leadership and RelationshipsÂ
Leverage established internal relationships and credibility to align cross-functional teams around retention prioritiesÂ
Serve as a senior leader and trusted advisor in complex renewal discussionsÂ
Partner closely with Sales, Relationship Management, and Client Service leaders to strengthen client engagementÂ

Protect and Grow RevenueÂ
Focus on reducing attrition and protecting high-value revenue streams within the large-plan segmentÂ
Identify trends and root causes of client loss and work across the organization to address them proactivelyÂ
Support strategic pricing and positioning decisions to maximize revenue and client retention while maintaining financial disciplineÂ
Improve client economics by introducing additional services and products via the renewal process

Drive Cross-Functional AlignmentÂ
Work across Sales, Operations, Product, Technology and Client Service to address systemic drivers of attritionÂ
Champion improvements in service delivery and client experience that directly impact retention outcomesÂ
Help institutionalize a proactive, data-driven retention modelÂ

Enhance Visibility and AccountabilityÂ
Provide clear, actionable insights to senior leadership on retention risk, pipeline, and outcomesÂ
Establish a structured approach to identifying and intervening with âat-riskâ clients earlier in the lifecycleÂ
Drive accountability across teams for retention resultsÂ

Section 3:Â Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
Minimum 10 yearsâ experience in a high-performance retirement plan sales organization
Proven ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
Effective organizational, leadership, decision making and communication skills.
Proficiency in sales tools and technologies (e.g. CRM, PowerBI, content management systems).
Strong leadership presence and ability to influence without direct authorityÂ
Deep credibility across the organization and with senior stakeholdersÂ
A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset focused on outcomesÂ
The ability to navigate complex, high-pressure client situations with confidence and clarityÂ
A passion for strengthening the business through improved client retentionÂ

The national average salary is $175,000 - $200,000, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits.âŻThis salary range represents the low and high end for this position. Actual salary offered will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment.
