We are currently searching for aPhysician Assistant to work withone of our Providers at our OrthoCarolina Ballantyneoffice in Charlotte. Â

ThePhysician Assistantis responsible for providing medical care as delegated by OrthoCarolina physician(s). Responsibilities includeassisting the physician in the office setting and independent clinics seeing patients with a variety of orthopedic injuries and illnesses.

Essential Functions:Â
Examinespatient, performs comprehensive physicalexamination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.Â
Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons/staff.Â
Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection. Assesses,applies and/or removes a variety of orthopedic casts, splints, and immobilization devices.Â
Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, appliesappropriate codes and charges for service, andassists in provision of continuity of care.Â
Dictates patient records including discharge summaries, history and physical evaluations, operative procedure notes,consultations and office visit notes.Documents patient information and care provided in patientrecord.Usescomputer to access/enter needed data.Â

Skills and Abilities:Â
Accurately evaluate patient problems in person or via phone andprovidingappropriate advice,intervention or referral.Â
Skill in evaluating and revising care plans based on patient changes.Â
Â
Qualifications:Â
Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program.Â
Current in the following:Â Â
North Carolina PA licenseÂ
Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Â
At least 3 years experience as aphysician assistant is required.
Prior experience in the field of orthopedics is preferred but not required. Â
