Senior Java Backend Developer / Technical Lead (m/f)

ARHS Group, part of Accenture, is looking for aSenior Java Backend Technical Lead (m/f) to join one of our client teams onsite in Luxembourg within a European institutional environment.

In this role, you will combine hands-on backend development with technical leadership, contributing to the design, development, and evolution of business-critical applications. Working closely with architects, business analysts, QA, DevOps, and development teams, you will drive technical excellence while ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions.

THE WORK:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend applications usingJava andSpring Boot.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of new features and system enhancements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor Java developers within the team.
• Perform code reviews and promote coding standards, best practices, and software quality.
• Analyse functional and technical requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Ensure the maintainability, performance, reliability, and security of backend applications.
• Collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to testing activities, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support CI/CD processes and participate in deployment and release activities.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues through root cause analysis and second-line support.
• Drive technical decisions and proactively identify opportunities to improve existing solutions and development practices.

Onsite at client site: This role requires an onsite presence with our clients and partners to support project delivery and strengthen collaboration.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• At least7 years of experience in Java backend development.
• Strong hands-on experience withJava 17.
• Excellent knowledge ofSpring Framework andSpring Boot.
• Solid experience withJPA,Hibernate, andSQL.
• Strong experience designing and implementingRESTful APIs.
• Experience withApache Kafka or other messaging technologies.
• Experience withMaven,Git, andJUnit.
• Good understanding ofCI/CD practices and software delivery pipelines.
• Experience leading technical discussions, mentoring developers, and reviewing code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex technical challenges.
• Fluency inEnglish (written and spoken).

• Experience within thefinancial services orbanking sector.
• Experience withAzure DevOps.
• Knowledge ofLiquibase.
• Experience withSOAP Web Services.
• Familiarity with secure, high-availability, and mission-critical enterprise applications.
