The Snowmaking Operator roleis an entry-level position within the Snowmaking Department.This job involves working as part of a team to generate snow to provide substrate for resort trails and operations. This willinclude Boreal Ski Resort, Woodward Tahoe Tubing, and Planet Kids at Soda Springs Resort.

Snowmaking is a notably, labor intensiveand physically demanding role. Snowmakers will beworking in avariety ofweather circumstancesand landscape conditions.Snowmobiles may be necessary for transportation at times (training will be provided, if necessary); walking/hiking through snow andpartially snow-covered areas is to be expected. Snowmaking operations will primarily be conducted through nighttime shifts; although operations are subject todaytimeshifts givenappropriate weather conditions.

While everyday is different Snowmaking Operators can expect to:

• Operate snow guns

• maintain equipment

• fulfill start-up and shut-down procedures for snow machines

• drain water hoses/lines

• Removal of snow/ice on/or surrounding equipment. 

Position Requirements: 

• Able to lift objects 40+ pounds 

• Basic mechanical skills 

• Able to use basic hand tools 

• Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions 

• Must be able to work night shifts 

• Able tocollaborate withothers in a positive manner

• Strong decision-making skills 

This is a seasonal, full-time snowmaking role, however, this positionand its responsibilities arecontingent onnatural snowfall and resort operation plans;upon the completion of snowmaking for the season, snowmakers may have the opportunity to fulfill a role as aSnow Removal Operator, if desired.
