As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of products and platforms that serve more than 4 million customers, working with modern technologies in a collaborative, product-led environment.

About the Team

The team is at the forefront of one of the largest technology transformations in the company's history, developing greenfield platforms and next-generation services from the ground up. Operating within the Fintech domain, the team delivers solutions across areas including Payments, Energy Trading, and Exports, while collaborating closely with colleagues across Lithuania and the UK.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in the design, development, and evolution of API-first services that form part of the company's target architecture. You will champion engineering excellence, influence architectural decisions, and help establish best practices for building scalable, resilient, and secure systems.

Working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Architects, you will remain hands-on in software development while providing technical direction across products and platforms.

You will work with technologies including TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, leveraging cloud-native infrastructure on AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD practices to deliver high-quality solutions at scale.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in backend software engineering, with a strong focus on distributed systems and API-driven architectures.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Proven experience leading technical design initiatives and making architectural decisions within complex software environments.
• Experience designing, building, and operating scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native applications.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and data modelling best practices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and modern cloud-native services.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, observability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Experience working within Agile product teams.
• A commercial mindset and passion for delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies.
• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience supporting large-scale, customer-facing platforms.
• Previous experience working within regulated industries such as Energy or Fintech.
