This role is primarily responsible for overseeing enterprise IT change governance, operational risk management, production change oversight, CAB management, release coordination, and operational scheduling activities across infrastructure, cloud, application, and platform services.

The role is heavily focused on Change Management governance and operational control activities, while also supporting Release Management coordination and release readiness functions across enterprise technology environments.

Responsibilities:

Change Management & Governance Responsibilities (Primary Focus)

  • Own and manage the enterprise IT Change Management lifecycle, including Standard, Normal, Emergency, and Major changes.
  • Lead and facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, including risk reviews, scheduling discussions, conflict resolution, approval tracking, and operational governance activities.
  • Review and evaluate production change requests for completeness, operational impact, implementation planning, rollback procedures, testing validation, and risk exposure.
  • Serve as a primary operational governance authority for production changes impacting enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, applications, security systems, and shared services environments.
  • Ensure all production changes comply with enterprise governance standards, operational procedures, audit requirements, and compliance controls.
  • Manage enterprise change calendars and coordinate production scheduling activities across multiple IT teams, business units, vendors, and operational support groups.
  • Identify operational risks, scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, and potential business impacts associated with planned changes and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee high-risk production implementation activities, maintenance windows, blackout periods, and major operational events.
  • Monitor production change execution activities and coordinate escalation efforts during implementation windows when operational issues arise.
  • Ensure proper communication of maintenance activities, outages, production risks, implementation schedules, and operational impacts to business and IT stakeholders.
  • Track and report operational metrics and KPIs related to change success rates, failed changes, emergency changes, unauthorized changes, and change-related incidents.
  • Conduct post implementation reviews (PIRs) and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for failed or problematic production changes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational stability, governance maturity, production risk reduction, and change execution effectiveness.
  • Support audit, regulatory, and compliance initiatives related to enterprise operational controls and IT governance requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve change management procedures, governance standards, workflows, reporting, and operational documentation.
  • Partner closely with Incident Management, Problem Management, Infrastructure Operations, SRE, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, and Application Support teams to improve production stability and operational maturity.

Release Management Responsibilities (Secondary Focus)

  • Coordinate enterprise release scheduling activities across application, infrastructure, cloud, and platform delivery teams.
  • Experience leading CAB meetings and managing enterprise production change governance processes.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL Change Management principles, operational governance frameworks, and enterprise IT controls.
  • Experience assessing operational risk within enterprise infrastructure, cloud, network, application, and platform environments.
  • Experience supporting Release Management coordination and enterprise deployment activities.
  • Experience using ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or similar enterprise workflow and governance platforms.
  • Strong communication, organizational, stakeholder management, and operational coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in fast-paced production environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise operational environments involving infrastructure services, cloud platforms, applications, and production support teams.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, release coordination processes, and deployment governance practices preferred.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with operational reporting, KPI development, audit support, and process improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Maintain release documentation, implementation schedules, deployment procedures, dependency tracking, and operational communications.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and operational teams supporting CI/CD pipelines, automation initiatives, and deployment tooling.
  • Assist in improving release governance processes, deployment methodologies, operational coordination, and release execution standards.
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD/CI) pipelines
  • Experience in working withDevOps andAgile methodologies
  • Working knowledge ofSoftware Development Life Cycle
  • Expertise in computer programming
  • Team management skills
  • Experience in the use ofApplication Release Automation tools such as ElectricFlow, Puppet Enterprise, Buildmaster, and Visual Studio Release Management.
  • Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban
  • Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating system
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or 10 years equivalent work experience in infrastructure service management roles.
