Role summary:
The (USA) Associate Merchant supports category management by facilitating supplier negotiations, managing purchase orders, and resolving supplier issues to ensure accurate product setup across channels. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to execute customer communication programs, optimize search results, and implement merchandising strategies. Utilizing data analysis and financial tracking, the Associate Merchant contributes to forecasting, budgeting, and promotional planning. By fostering strong vendor relationships and applying category expertise, this position drives operational excellence and supports business objectives while maintaining compliance with company policies and delivering a seamless customer experience.
About the team:
The Patio team is dedicated to enhancing customers’ outdoor living experiences by offering stylish and functional products for entertaining and relaxation. The team focuses on strengthening partnerships with established brands like Mainstays and BHG, as well as emerging brands such as My Texas House and Beautiful by Drew Barrymore. This team values creating customer-focused solutions and delivering exceptional value. As an Associate Merchant, you will contribute to vendor relationship management, category strategy, and supplier collaboration to support the team’s mission of providing quality outdoor products that meet evolving customer needs.
What you'll do:

Support merchants in supplier negotiations and manage purchase orders for assigned categories.
Assist in resolving supplier issues and facilitate new supplier setups for stores and online channels.
Own execution of customer communication and education programs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Ensure accuracy and quality of product page content, adhering to taxonomy and search guidelines.
Analyze category performance data to support budgeting, forecasting, and sales reporting.
Develop and implement feature proposals and modular assortment strategies across channels.
Collaborate with planners and analysts to align financial plans and inventory purchases.

What you'll bring:

Proven experience in vendor relationship management and supplier negotiations within retail or related sectors.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data analysis tools to derive insights and support category strategy.
Proficiency in managing purchase orders, item setup, and category administration to ensure operational accuracy.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to resolve supplier issues and support merchandising and promotional activities.
Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking to support category objectives.
Effective communication skills to guide suppliers and coordinate with internal teams.
Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and customer-focused business practices.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
