The Opportunity
What You'll Do
- Staff Management and Development
- Provide mentoring and one-to-one training for individual staff members.   Â
- Be available to answer questions and provide solutions as needed.  Â
- Provide feedback (positive and negative) to partner and director regarding staff issues Â
- Help to foster a collaborative team environment. Â
- Manage day‑to‑day outsourced accounting services for assigned government contracting clients
- Own project management of accounting deliverables, schedules, and month‑end close
- Oversee and manage audits and reviews (DCAA, CPA, incurred cost submissions, etc.)
- Develop and manage indirect rate structures, budgets, forecasts, and cost submissionsÂ
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including variance and trend analysisÂ
- Identify and resolve accounting, system, and process issuesÂ
- Prepare clear, client‑ready summaries of results, forecasts, and improvement opportunities
- Partner with CEOs and leadership teams on financial decision‑making and scenario analysis, in conjunction with CFO Advisors
- Manage work with limited oversight, exercising sound judgment and initiative
- Review and oversee the work of support staff to ensure accuracy and qualityÂ
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within government contractingÂ
- Prior experience working for or with government contractorsÂ
- Hands‑on experience with Unanet, Costpoint, QuickBooks, or similar job‑cost accounting systems (required)Â
- Strong command of general ledger accounting, job costing, and GAAPÂ
- Working knowledge of FAR requirements, DCAA compliance, and indirect rate structuresÂ
- Experience managing audits and interacting with external auditorsÂ
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlinesÂ
- Strong project management and organizational skillsÂ
- Excellent communication and client‑service skills — able to translate numbers into insightsÂ
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordÂ
- Ability to oversee, review, and ensure the quality of work performed by othersÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferredÂ
