Within our Aerospace, Defense & Government (ADG) practice, we partner with government contractors to deliver accurate, compliant, and reliable accounting support that helps clients focus on their mission.Â
As an Outsourced Accounting Associate, you’ll support government contracting clients while learning from experienced accountants, former business owners, and industry specialists. This is a great opportunity to build a strong foundation in government contract accounting while gaining exposure to multiple clients and industries.Â
What You'll Do
- Assist with accounts payable processing, from invoice entry through check runsÂ
- Support accounts receivable, including customer invoicing and payment trackingÂ
- Assist with job costing for government contractsÂ
- Record daily cash activity and depositsÂ
- Prepare monthly bank and account reconciliationsÂ
- Assist with payroll processing, payroll journal entries, and vacation balance updatesÂ
- Support general ledger maintenance and reconciliationsÂ
- Assist with month‑end close activitiesÂ
- Help prepare financial reports, schedules, and forecasts, as neededÂ
- Maintain organized vendor files, accounting records, and supporting documentationÂ
- Prepare and update recurring spreadsheets and tracking reportsÂ
- Research accounting questions and assist with responding to client inquiriesÂ
- Support timely, accurate deliverables and a positive client experienceÂ
What We're Looking For
- 2–4 years of accounting experience (public accounting, outsourced accounting, or industry experience preferred)Â
- Degree in Accounting required
- Experience working for or with government contractors required
- Exposure to Unanet, Costpoint, and/or QuickBooks strongly preferredÂ
- Foundational understanding of GAAP and general ledger accountingÂ
- Familiarity with government contracting concepts (FAR, indirect rates, job costing) is a plusÂ
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detailÂ
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlinesÂ
- Clear, professional communication and customer service skillsÂ
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and WordÂ
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and grow in a client‑facing environmentÂ
