The Corporate Accounting Launch & Transformation team is responsible for ensuring Microsoft's strategic business, commerce, licensing, contracting, and product initiatives are implemented in a financially compliant, scalable, and operationally ready manner.
The Senior Finance Manager serves as a trusted finance partner across Engineering, Product, Business Planning, Revenue Accounting, Tax, Compliance, and Operations teams. The role leads accounting assessments, launch governance activities, finance readiness reviews, process transformation initiatives, and operational control execution for complex business changes impacting Microsoft's end-to-end order-to-cash environment.
This position requires a combination of technical accounting expertise, business partnership, programme leadership, process design, and executive stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will help shape future business capabilities while ensuring compliance with accounting standards, financial controls, and Microsoft's governance framework.

Responsibilities
Launch & Transformation Leadership
- Lead finance review and accounting readiness activities for strategic business and commerce initiatives.
- Partner with Engineering and Product teams throughout the design lifecycle to ensure accounting and financial requirements are incorporated into proposed solutions.
- Evaluate new business models, commercial constructs, licensing changes, and platform capabilities for accounting and reporting implications.
- Drive launch governance processes from initial intake through implementation and post-launch review.
Accounting & Compliance
- Assess accounting impacts of complex business scenarios and develop accounting positions in accordance with applicable accounting standards and Microsoft policy.
- Partner with Revenue Accounting, Technical Accounting, Tax, Compliance, and Finance stakeholders to achieve alignment on accounting conclusions.
- Ensure launch solutions maintain compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial reporting obligations.
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation plans for complex initiatives.
Business Partnership
- Act as Finance lead for cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Commerce, Operations, Legal, Sales, Tax, and Accounting organisations.
- Influence senior stakeholders through data-driven recommendations and clear communication of financial implications.
- Provide strategic guidance regarding business process design and operational scalability.
Programme Execution
- Lead multiple concurrent programmes with competing priorities and timelines.
- Drive accountability across stakeholders to ensure key milestones and deliverables are achieved.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate launch readiness status, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Support leadership decision-making through concise executive communications and presentation materials.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, automation, governance, and operational effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and scalability of Corporate Accounting operations.
- Partner with business and engineering teams to reduce complexity and improve customer and employee experiences.
People & Team Contribution
- Mentor and coach finance professionals across the organisation.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and development of accounting and launch governance best practices.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 4+ years accounting or finance experience
- OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 3+ years accounting or finance experience
- OR equivalent experience
- Professional accounting qualification preferred (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CA or equivalent).
- Experience working in a matrixed global organisation with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience in Finance, Corporate Accounting, Revenue Accounting, Audit, Financial Controls, Financial Transformation, or related disciplines.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale business transformation, system implementation, or product launch initiatives.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
- Experience evaluating business process and system design impacts on accounting outcomes.
- Knowledge of financial controls, governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
- Ability to interpret complex business requirements and translate them into finance and accounting solutions.
Leadership Skills
- Proven ability to lead through influence and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong programme and project management capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level presentations and business case development.
- Ability to simplify complex technical and accounting concepts for diverse audiences.
Accounting IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Ireland is € 80,000.00 - € 136,400.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
