Engineer Draftsperson - Remote (AUS Company)

We’re seeking a versatileEngineer Draftsperson who brings a strong blend of technical knowledge, drafting capabilities and project documentation skills to help our Australian client’sNon Process Infrastructure business. This remote role focuses on translating early design concepts and specific project briefs into precise technical drawings and detailled documentation that are blueprint ready for manufacturing and construction. This is a documentation and admin focused role.

Responsibilities

Technical Drafting & Design:

• Draft, format, and finalise high-quality engineering documents, including process descriptions, operating and maintenance manuals, safety protocols, and technical specifications for tender.
• Utilise CAD software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD) to produce accurate, high-quality technical drawings that meet industry and safety standards.
• Support the drafting and development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for NPI utility systems (e.g., water, fuel, air, and lubrication facilities).
• Collaborate with senior engineers to translate conceptual designs into detailed, construction-ready blueprints.
• Maintain accurate records in the company’s document control system, admin and document formatting in word and excel.

Project Engineering & Lifecycle Support:

• Support NPI mining projects through all phases of the project lifecycle: PFS, DES, FEED, and Detailed Design.
• Assist in the development of robust tender packages and construction-ready documentation for mining infrastructure.
• Ensure precise design continuity across all project phases to minimise redesign, avoid scope creep, and ensure constructability.
• Track project changes and ensure early project assumptions align with final engineering outcomes.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Drafting, or a related field.
• Minimum 2+ years experience in a drafting or engineering role, preferably within the mining, heavy industry, or NPI sectors.
• Advanced skills inAutoCAD (2D/3D) andRevit. Proficiency inNavisworks and with demonstrated experience creating P&IDs and PFDs is a strong advantage.
• Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear, compliant tender documents and engineering reports.

• Eager to learn, motivated and open to problem solving new challenges.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative with problem-solving skills.

• Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• Excellent English skills (writing and speaking)

Nice to have

• Experience with Australian WA mining standards or Non-Process Infrastructure is a huge bonus.
• Background in modular and scalable infrastructure design.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Teams.
